johnsocp, that is awesome. I like that you did with what looks like a parking Garage and the tank below the gas station with the scary pete item. Amazing what you came up with.

I'm not gonna be able to finish mine - a critical shortage of glue has left me high 'n' dry

I will still finish the build though, probably next week.

That MA build looks awesome though. Can't wait to see the internals and more detailed shots.

Well it looks like we have only 1 poster.... and a few who are close to finishing.

We have 2 choices....

1) Declare the winner
2) Extend the deadline.

Declare a Winner. Doesn't matter if he/she's the only one. They followed the rules. Let them win. Don't know what they win, but hey, they got it in on time.

If the challenges are to be more regular, perhaps there's some way to make them less daunting to get into? I know it's tempting to try to come up with a huge build and then not finish by the deadline...

Or maybe (as it looks like) a lot of people just had bad luck. :-/

I think the monthly format is a good one.

Maybe the next challenge should be the same contest? That way people can finish up their builds in time... I'll even enter! :O!

This should definitely become a quasi-official fan feature like WWWdays!

Thanks Captain. Don't know the requirements for "official avatar" are.

What I would suggest instead of every month, how about every other month or once a quarter (6-4 times per year). I think that might be more realistic to get more submissions. Just my IMHO.

How about a poll to see what would make persons get involved?

Maybe each challenge could be two months long, with the end of the first month being a 'work in progress' voting round? I have to say I like the monthly idea though.

I remember a popular contest on a lego forum website. Each submission was to be a 7x7 stud "vignette" showing off the contest's theme. The idea of 7x7 was to give people with small lego collections as much of a chance at winning as people with huge collections.




Anyway, I like the idea of a contest which is fairly easy to enter (with low requirements), but where people can really show off their creativity.

Of course, worldworks products lend themselves to massive, impressive builds. But, so do Lego. There's probably a great solution hiding in someone's brain out there.

Maybe the solution would just be to cut down on everyone's bad luck.. hehe
