Coins of the Realm has officially gone "GOLD"

Here's a fun little release that is sure to bring a grin to the faces of fantasy gamers everywhere! What started off as a crazy little idea grew legs of its own and pushed itself onto the WWG release schedule like magic

'Coins of the Realm' is the latest creation from the WorldWorks module department. Combining the talents of Alberto Silva, Bob Cooper, Joel Sparks and Kevin Jordan, this gaming tool is a must have for anyone who wants to add that extra level of immersion to their next game. Feast your eyes on richly detailed coin sets suitable for play with Arcraetia and your custom campaign settings. Not only do we include amazing coin sets for you but we also include gold bars and even an ornate wooden treasure chest to store your loot! This incredible treasure chest even comes with a secret removable compartment to hide away those extra special possessions.

Adding to our world of Arcraetia you'll find the official currencies of Crenn & Worheim as well as choice coins and gold bars from the Talon Kingdom. And just because we like to push that immersion factor we've even included counterfeit coins to trick attention span challenged players

Sweet. I like it. Though the pics for the coins in "Missing Persons" looked a bit more "real" than just a drawing.

Also where can we get a deck of cards like that...?

My daughters would love these! They think pirates are the coolest thing. I have no idea how that ever happend as I monitor what they watch closley but if they see a pirate they flip out like it was the 1950's and Ringo Star just walked into the room!

If you want weight to them use the comic backing that you put in those bags. It is very thick. I use them to re-enforce alot of my models.

to bad it wont go through my printer (too thick)

Very interesting, i had a fw yeas back grabbed some of those kids play money sets and used them, but they never where quite what i wanted, (the american presidents and all).

These are more Fantasy, and could be quick and fun to do.

My only quibble with them is that if they are coins in use by the society in question would they be as tarnished and stained, to the point that thye look like relics? These things look like they have been sitting in a chest for a hundred years or so. I like the look of the coins and concept, but think some of the ageing is a bit over done for actively used coins (yeah i can expect tarnish on them but the big stains on some of them...) in a society that would be minting and posibbly re-minting coins some just look to "old".

I'll get them because of the coolness value of them. I keep avoiding going realistic with money in my game, because that gets into to much record keeping that I don't want to get involved with.

That's why I just use a standard value and coinage name for all of the different countries in the area and don't worry about whether the value of Galideeria's coins would be less in Calvinnia because the two countries don't like each other, etc, etc.

So I'll be picking up the set so that I can just use the pieces that I like from it as a way for the players to keep track of their money in a cool and easy way.

By the way, when you putting the set up? :wink:
