Hey all Denny here,

I have a couple little personal tid-bits I wanted to share with you.

Well, it's been a real mixed bag of lows and highs for my family in the past 2 months. We had some really tough news in December when my nephew Chase took extremely ill with Leukemia on Christmas Eve. The family had a rough season but he's a tough kid and holding out the best he can. It is highly likely that I will be releasing a special project for him to help the family out with ongoing medical expenses. I'm thinking a special ship design for our upcoming project Wormhole might make for a good little release on that front but I'm open to suggestions. Keep your eyes glued to the forum for an update on that next month.

Fast forward to January 11 and the arrival of our first child Lucas! Tracey was a real trooper and after 34 hours we had ourselves a beautiful, bright eyed, 7pound 12 oz boy. What an amazing, terrifying and special experience that was

You really can't describe a thing like that. So now we sit recovering and trying to find our feet.

Life sure knows how to throw a mean cosmic curve ball but if it didn't things would be rather dull wouldn't they?

If you'll allow me to beam for a moment as only a new father can (virtual wallet shots anyone?), here's a few preview pics of my best creation to date "Project:Lucas":

Anywho, the WWG machine continues on and now I've got a little scholar to fill with the dark arts of cardstock model creation and all things geek

We've got a whole crew of highly motivated creators working their butts off to keep things rolling along behind the scenes and just because my life got a little more complicated does not mean things will slow down here. I think this thing we call WWG has far too much momentum behind it for that to happen at this point

As one that bought one of those 5 years ago I have to say that I'll pass on this release for now...one is enought :lol:

!! - I love mine with all my heart...above my own life, but for my and my wife (for now at least) Sergi will have all our attention...

Congrats with your new son!

You are right: you can't really describe the feeling of helping you own child into the world and holding it in your arms for the first time. It's one of the strongest feelings there is. You have to experience it to believe it.

Denny, congratulations to you and Tracey. The 34 hours reference caught my eye, I hope that she is feeling good now that delivery is behind her and she has her baby to hold. I know that I wanted to give up about halfway through, which just wasn't an option. Enjoy your little one, but don't expect much sleep. If you keep designing the next couple of months, it will be interesting to see what you come up with in a semi-delusional state.

I'm sorry to hear about your nephew, we (that would be me and my baby, now almost 14) and I will be happy to support any set you release on his behalf.

Congratulations to you and ypur growing family. This project may have been a long time in the development phase, but the results look well worth the wait!

Sorry to hear about your Nephew. I'll gladly pick up a set to help with expenses, though when I read your post I have to admit my first thought was along the lines of CCotD's idea... some sort of statue that could go in Mayhem Park or any of the sets really.

Project Chase:

How about a skate park for Mayhem?

Or

A children's park (swing sets, a roundabout) which could fit both genres.

Or

A lollyshop - a candy store that again would fit both styles (or all three including Sci-Fi). This would be a fun build.

Or

A MotorCross set? (WTF !?! Well who knows what suits Chase better).

End of the day how old is Chase and what is his fav. things?

Oh Denny. you should have a fairly perfect babe for ... about 3 weeks then the sleepless starts my Nephew is just on a month now and it's started.

Many congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of young Lucas. I'm sure he'll bring you great joy (mixed with a few tears, but that's kids).

Terrible news about little Chase. He's only a baby himself. I will be more than happy to buy a small set to assist in the expenses. Some ideas to help

1) A new small building for Himmelveil (e.g. a Jail or a Shoppe)

2) A new encounter set (e.g. Orcs Camp)

3) A small DungeonLinx extension set

4) InteriorWorks : Homes and Hovels

I saw the sense in CCotD's suggestion of a statue, but it struck me as too much of a memorial type thing and I hope it's far too early to be thinking along those lines.

I also like the idea of a ship for Project : Wormhole, but worry that the untried commercial nature of the product might mean limited sales (although if every newbie on the playtester thread bought one, It would be a bestseller).

At the end of the day, I am sure you will think of something excellent.

Sorry to hear about Chase. Hope things work out for your family on that front.

Never had to deal with that kind of thing in my family, but have known a couple of friend's families with children that had cancer. Bout the best you can do is be there for them when they need you.

Good luck on that front. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Congratulations Denny, and to Tracey (34 hours :shock:

whew!).

The new Lucas model looks great - awesome texturing (the hair effect looks fidly but gives that reall lived in look), construction looks a tad wrinkled but should settle down in time, and really tidy edging (just don't tell Tracey which prismacolor you used to get him to look right for the photos).

And all the best for Chase. My niece and god-daughter went through that a couple of years ago (she was 7 at the time, 11 now). It was a grueling couple of years but the chemo worked (the chemo treatments just keep getting better and better year on year) and while she is still on 2-3 monthly monitoring she hasn't needed any chemo for two years and is right as rain. So finger crossed Chase is one of the majority that make it through just fine these days.

Great news there mate, and welcome to the club........ have a cigar and enjoy the moment!

As well as the joy for your new money/sleep-draining machine, I would also like to extend my best wishes for Chase, and hope that he fights it off.

As for the project, well maybe something along the lines of what has been mentioned by the other guys but with some form of sign or billboard incorporated into the walls, fences etc, that gives the name and email/phone number of a Charity related to Chase's illness?
