I finally got around to trying out the can of 3M Craft Mount I picked up at the end of last year.

Man, that speeds up tiles!

Seriously, if you've not given it a shot yet, do so - you're missing out!

Question for the more experienced - does anyone else get that strange 'rough' texture on the reverse of the piece when using it?

Overspray/ air residue.

After you spray the residue stays in the air for quite some time, settling out eventually. If you leave your tiles there to set, it settles on the tiles. =)

Yeah. Best thing to do is have two areas; a spraying area and a drying area - and they should be reasonably distant from each other. I spray each foamcore bases (or 2-3 bases), then immediately move them to the drying area and put the printed tile on the base, then burnish the tile. Then I let them sit in the drying area.

Like Shatterdragon I use a combination of UHU and Elmer's, in my case using the Elmer's at the edges and corners to strengthen the join. I have found UHU to be very susceptible to damp.

I use spray mount for Masterboards, and have been using it for over twenty years for gluing paper to foam core. (I still have a map, yellowed with age, that I mounted back in the early eighties. ) If it were both less expensive and easier to control it would be ideal for all my World Works needs.

I have also experimented with p spritz bottle and water basded glues, and they have been hit or mis, sometimes working just fine, sometimes warping all to heck, and sometimes just not sticking at all.
