Currently in talks with a local games shop (Wolfs Game Shop) about holding a Savage Worlds and Worldworksgames Demo day. If it gets confirmed and runs well, I'd then try and get other shops around KL to let me run a similar thing there.

Due to the success of previous SW games using WWG terrain, I'm thinking of doing something a bit bigger next time............ basically trying to use all the tables in the shop for maybe 4-5 hours on a Saturday.

Here's the plan:

I would run a Demo Event of Savage Worlds (thinking of doing a "Necropolis" scenario) using Mars Station terrain (plus maybe some secret extra stuff including some Ebbles Vehicles ) on one table.

Other tables would have WWG terrain set up for people to play their games on. Examples:

1. If they wanted to play Warhammer or Confrontation and brought their armies, I would have a table set up with maybe Villageworks buildings, Watch Tower etc.

2. If they wanted to play other games, I would try to have suitable terrain on another table for them to use such as Caveworks, Mayhem etc.

The terrain may not be exactly matched to their games, but I'll use what I have and try to fit things as well as possible........... Warmachine/WW2 in Mayhem, could that work????

I need to plan this thing properly (and see what I have to get built) and continue with my talks with Wolf, the shop owner, but I think this could happen and hopefully be a success.

Spoke to Wolf (the game shop owner) and he was psyched about the idea.

Now to plan the event:

Gonna take over the whole shop for 4-5 hours on a Saturday (date TBC) for a combined Savage Worlds / Worldworksgames / Ebbles Demo Day.

One table will have a 3-part Necropolis demo run by my good self using Worldworksgames and Ebbles terrain and objectives.

Will try and see if I can get another guy to learn the SW system and run a Modern Savage game in a similar vein to those I have run previously on a second table using the Mayhem terrain........... this is a possible.

The other 2-3 tables in the shop will be set-up with other various Worldworksgames terrain for people to play their own games on (Warmachine, Confrontation, WH40K etc)......... Wolf has stated an keen interest in having the WWG Maiden on one table......... hmmmmm will have to see about this coz I don't have that set yet and it may take some time to build (plus game choice on that beastie is limited) :ninja:

Once everything is confirmed, I'll submit details as promised.

Sounds like a great plan... I wish you the best of luck. I believe the Maiden is supposed to be one of the toughest models to build, so I think you are right that it might not be doable in the time before the event, especially if you are coordinating the events, writing the scenarios, and building all the models yourself!

Well the Maiden certainly is a head-turner and certainly could sway a number of people to spend some money on WWG stuff, but as you mention, time may be an issue.

I'll only be running the Necropolis game, scenario done. If I can get someone else to run a Modern SW game, the scenario won't take 5 mins to prepare. Other tables are just for players to run their own games on.

Necropolis table- Mars Station + others
- Ground Boards finished, general terrain/buildings 50% complete, extra secret bits 80% complete.
- Figures 30% complete (still waiting for the Copplestone figures for the PCs)

Other tables- possible list
- Caveworks - enough completed to use
- Villageworks - 3 houses complete, more items and possible Ground Board to do (possibly including SE Watch Tower, yeah will even try and get some Stone Edge stuff visible as well )....... not sure if I'll bother with the Ground boards for this event......... hmmmm
- Mayhem - enough completed to use
- Maiden - hmmmmm don't have it yet, and may be impossible to build in time.

Regarding point 2 above, tomorrow is the last gaming day on the current premises, and I'll be running a special SAVAGE MAYHEM game to say goodbye to the place.

@Denny - do you want this report on the Blog as per your proposal before, or should I just post here as normal?

A couple suggestions:

1) PCON would make a good addition to a Mars Station build. I put together some demo boards myself a while back, and one of the best parts of it was an elevated landing pad (Landing pad from MS, mounted and cardstock and edged around, placed on several bulkheads and three staircases from PCON).

2) If you don't have time to do the Maiden (save it for last), an alternative might be to hammer out a large section of water, beach along one side, a few loose islands with palm trees on it, and some much smaller boats (Skull Cove). It would probably build faster, still have that "wow" factor, and still have a lot that could be done with it.

While the Maiden might not be workable in time, how about hammering out a nice Shellendrak Manor? If you can match Robby's speed, you'd have it done in no time!
