I worked on Pubs & Inns last weekend and Castles and Keeps this past weekend. While working on Castles and Keeps, two things came to mind. First, that 'magic' floor tile with the circle on it reminded my wife of the 'rings' on Stargate SG-1. Since we are working on a Stargate 1870 by Gaslight scenario, I thought it might help others to know of this resource.

Second, I started looking at the circular staircase and it hit me that this might make a good 'grand staircase' by printing 2 of them, one regular and one reverse image. Cut the walls where the two would come together towards the top of the stairs and attach the step tabs to each other, perhaps a piece of extra card stock from the edge of one of the prints to reinforce under those steps. Attach them so the doors are side by side at the top and the stairs turn out away from each other. I haven't tried yet, but when I get some more ink, I will give it a shot.

One final comment - the game rules, Blood & Swash/Thunder & Plunder has rules for swinging from chandeliers. It struck me that this was the only thing missing from the Pubs and Castles interior sets. I took a couple lengths of brass wire (long enought to stretch accross the width of the main room), attached one short piece towards the middle and glued a 25mm wagon wheel to the end. This gives a spoked chandelier look that would be suitable for many things, and could have some kind of wires or plastic sprues added for candles. Now my adventurers can run, jump and swing into action from the chandelier. Make a few for your pub.

Okay, after having assembled the first set of stairs, I revise my earlier double stairs idea by thinking that nothing would need to be cut out to put the two together. Perhaps, it would be good to glue a single long step over the two for the first couple of steps from top to bottom to make it more of a single unit, but otherwise, they should work out. One other item would be to remove the doors from the frames to have an open doorway into an upstairs area.
