I am just getting into cardstock modeling and hope this is the right forum for my question. What exactly is the difference between 1" and 1.5" scaling? I'd like to get Shellendrak Manor for use with Zombie!!! but I'm not sure what scaling that uses, or even how to find out. For example, can it be used with HorrorClix?

Hello,

The 1" is typical for Dungeon's and Dragons or 25mm to 30mm" scale.

The 1.5" is designed specifically for CLIX (either horror, superhero, mageknight, etc)

Zombies!!!! is approx 20mm for the figures, but the tiles are much smaller scale (probably 6mm). You could very well use the manor for Zombies!!!! but I think the rules may be a bit limiting, since a lot of the cards deal with moving whole city blocks (ie Keys Left In It, I doubt players will be "driving" around the Manor).

I just picked up Zombies!!!! and its a hoot, especially when you get a bunch of blood thirsty High Schoolers who are into the whole "Horror" stuff.

The Manor comes with its own rules for a zombie game, I have not read through them yet so I cannot comment.

But if you do any roleplaying (like Year of the Zombie) or play the Wargame All Things Zombie, then the Manor is a sure hit!

Specifically trevlix, 1" and 1.5" refers to the size of the grid printed on the floor tiles, there is no difference in "scale" per se. Welcome to the boards and thanks for purchasing Shellendrak Manor!

Thanks all for the answers! I haven't purchased the manor yet, but will in the next few days. Need to collect the supplies before I download it or else I'll just drive myself crazy.

I was actually thinking of using the zombies from the Zombies!!! game for the game which comes with it. They look like they'll work in it - if not, oh well. I'm sure I'll still have some fun!

The 1.5" is great for my 25mm (nearly all are in reality 28-30mm tall) Zombies. Since we use a no grid (or 1' hex) outdoors for movement, and a square grid in cramped buildings, 1" is really too small. using real 3-d furniture and scenery makes life unfun at best whith 1" round based figures. I also recently (last night) made a generic 1.25" square grid on Word, where I print out Matt's plain floor patterns, reinsert into printer and print the grid over, as 1.25" might even be better for us. As promised, my pics will appear tonight!!!
