OK, so as I mentioned somewhere on the forum, I have resized the Mayhem tiles to 8" instead of 7" for my ground layouts. So I decided to give it a whirl for my Rezolution board, and here are the results.

This is the basic board, 18 8" tiles on a 2'x4' board. This is half the size i need to play Rez, but will do fine on its own when I am playing Red Blok vs. UNA in AT-43.


Once I have laid my terrain down, here are views from both ends. I have the warehouse, my Chinese Disco, the CyberBar, and gas station, but the gas station is still built for a 7" layout. I put the wasteland tile down where the gas station goes in case it blows up. You can start to see where the extra size of the tiles is giving me some alleyways here.




And finally here are a few more shots showing a bit more close up of how things look. My UNA troppers from AT-43 Operation Damocles are here for scale.






Overall I like the 8" tiles more than my previous board with the seven inch tiles for two reasons:

1) It allows me to have some alleys between buildings, so I can move my troops around without necessarily having to go through or over every building on the board. Originally the CyberBar and Gas station were constructed to allow some passge between other buildings.

2) It reduces how many buildings I need to make before I can begin playing. I know most of you are cardstock pros, but I need to balance my terrain time with my painting time with my kid time etc. If I can find a way to reduce the amount of terrain time, I can play faster. I have been working on theis Rezolution terrain since before Christmas. I had hoped to be ready by the end of June, but my AT-43 and Confrontation terrain got in the way. So I need to finish my 3-story office building, do another one but this time with Shelendrak stuff, and do a 7'x14" apartment block and I should be ready to rock with Rez.

As I said before, I have though of this myself, but havn't gotten too it (gee that seems to be a common thread of mine)

I will eventually get around to my 1 story shop/ storfront ideas where I incorporate alleys on 7x7 bases.
