In keeping with VillageWorks, how about some wooden houses to go along with the plaster and stone houses already included with CWU?

I know. But that does tend to make it more rambling rather than massive. Not that I don't think they're incredible models, mind you! Just not quite what I'm looking for in a keep...

(Sorry for the language issue. There is also an english version, but that one doesn't seem to work 100%) Notice the truly massive central donjon, with a huge great hall, high ceilings, and highly defensible (you'll almost never find any windows bigger than arrow slits on the ground floor, for example). Many of these castles started out with just a reinforced keep, around which concentric walls were erected over the centuries.

Here's another good example of a keep: Castle Stalker in Scotland. Aka "Castle Aargh!" from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:

I just finished my first chunky dungeon and 150 pieces later my hands are sore. Here is something that is missing from both chunky dungeon and castleworks ultimate.

Walls on a 45' angle. across the grid.

2 piece for castleworks and 2 for chuncky dungeon could open a whole slew of options.

Although if you add 45' walls you probibly want to add a 45' moat sections too.

Adding to the can of worms towers that have doors on the 45's. Or even better yet a tower that is just blank wall and templates where a user could glue on doors, windows, arrow slits to build a custom tower. I am not sure how good this would look.

If you build them all on 2x2 grid pieces you won't have to worry about those nasty corners.

I tried to kitbash one of these and discovered I had to use the middle of a wall to make the top, it ended up not looking so good.

Love this idea - with these “Elements" you will also be racking up the props, so in the future you/us will have a very sexy library of props and items.

You could also work through the different types structures ie: Walls, towers, buildings, gatehouse, basing, moats etc. one element at a time. Choose a number of themes that are included in the Element and run with them in all the different paks.

Will you still do a general expansion and then do the Elements or is this a replacement?

Very excited at being at the cutting edge of Cardstock development but losing blood from the papercuts!!

Once the expansions are done, will you be releasing them as a package deal? In other words, say there are 4 expansions that each cost $5. Would you then also offer "CWU: Expansions Complete" that would include four of these expansions, and cost say $15?

For nostalgia's sake, I think upgrading CastleWorks Classic with CWU textures would be neat. Just redo the old CW parts with CWU textures, that's all.

Back to CWU, I would also like more toppers for the towers, especially octagonal ones.

Sheets of just glazing...each sheet with multiple copies for just one size and shape of window. [Using the current single transparency sheet I've already ended up with a mile of chain and a half-dozen portculises that will never get used.]

By the way, glazing the windows makes an order of magnitude improvement in how the finished models look.

If you have PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro or some other graphic program, its pretty easy to create those yourself. Save the PDF as an image (I use TIFFs, but I'm not terribly advanced), and then edit the image, cutting away what you don't want and copying/pasting what you want multiples of.

I did that for the water transparencies (2 straight or 2 corner pieces per page, since I had a lot of straight moats printed, but not as many corner moats), and often do it for specific elements I want multiple copies of that are on the same page as elements that I don't want extra copies of.

Heck, even just Acrobat Reader and Paint. Take a Snapshot of the window you want to copy in Acrobat, then paste as many as you can fit onto a sheet in Paint.

For that matter (as a lightbulb pops into existence over my head) zoom in on the image, erase the inside, leaving only the outline of the window, then draw in whatever window design you want, coloring them in for stained glass. Guaranteed to be the right size for use.

Also - how about a town-house like in VW - a 6 x 4 1/2" base level that will take a 6x6 upper level.

I'm a skirmish gamer not a role player and that would give me a bit more room to work with as this set is HUGE - I've currently built twox2 storey houses and a spare complex roof + some of the props a complex tower 3 tall with complex crens and the peak - looks so nice (and I haven't even bothered with the windows yet - I think that might have to be an if and when. I love the slot in pieces they work so well ) My fingers are black from edging

If we are doing damaged walls, then can we have damaged buildings (I'm thinking something like the mordheim buildings or the pieces that came with 40K v3 or LotR:FotR/TTT.

And more roofing options would be cool too - just different tile patterns )

I've got a couple of kit-bashes planned - burned out/smashed Mordheim type houses and possibly changing the red tiled roof for something greyer - so it looks with the plastered buildings more like I imagine Minas Tirith

Oh - and how about a way of use mob swapping Kit-bashing - or possibly publishing our kit-bashing in the expansions - a bit like the bonus fan-designed scenarios in the Civilization series.
