I finished the full-size Shellendrak build just before Xmas. It was a series of unfortunate events -- with the build itself and with family things going on at the same time -- but it worked out OK. I did cut out the basement and reduce the grounds (long story) but the house itself was completed as planned.

I mixed in a lot of bits from other papermodel companies for the upper floor, so you'll just have to trust me that the mad scientist had a well appointed lab that included the cells from Mayhem PD (because you need somewhere to keep the products of your evil experiments).

Since I wasn't entirely pleased with the build and I needed a smaller project to work on for a few weeks, I decided to make a mini Shellendrak. I printed the parts using the printer's four-pages-to-a-sheet option, making the model about 6in square.

Shellendrak worked really well at that size and it was a fun build. After [another company's model], I'll start work on Shadowcore Prime.

The mini manor looks cool... what are you using it for?

I meant quarter size as in four pages to a sheet (a quarter of A4), half size as in two pages to A4 (would that match up with Airfix 1/72 scale?) As someone who doesn't come from a gaming background, I find the whole scale/size thing a bit of a mystery when it comes to miniatures.

Anyway, four sheets to a page does make the model work with 15mm figures -->

I had terrible problems with warping, particularly in the entrance section, hence the wonky walls. I built the larger model in three sections per floor and I was hoping that joining the sections would correct the problem but it didn't work out. Thanks for the tip with the double-sided tape, M'Lord, I'll try it out next time.

Scotherns : My Mother and Grandmother had the same reaction but I really couldn't keep the model; the room where my builds live is being done out so I'd lost my storage space. I've wondered about giving them away but I wasn't sure if anywhere/one would want them. if I contacted a local gaming group/store, would they really be receptive? I'd assumed that they'd already have better models to use.

LD2062 : I thought about trying the Pritt Power Stick but other glue sticks I've tried haven’t been strong enough. In the end, with the larger Shellendrak, I glued the walls in place, then used bulldog clips to hold strips of heavier card on either side of the walls as they dried.
