I haven't seen any pictures of the lift yet, so I thought I'd post mine. Although I don't have any plans of using "Something Below," I think the production design is amazing. In my opinion, the 15 bucks was well worth the added set pieces.

Definitely an item that I could use in differnet settings and locations.

I'm thinking of picking up some chain at a hobby store and using that instead of the transparency.

If you do, you might want to reinforce the top brace beam with at least one more layer of cardstock, if not a thin metal sheet.

Otherwise, the chain (however delicate) will eventually wear through the cardstock.

Should look great, though!

Could you adda thin tube to stop the chain eating through?

Very nice work that - it really is an excellent piece.

While epoxy doesn't dry 100% clear you could coat the circle with that and it should prevent the paper from being chewed up.

Sorry, not sure if I explained myself properly and it seems a neat way of fixing things.

How about drilling through the top beam and sliding in a short, thin straw. The chain would pass through the straw..

Personally, I'd look at something a little stronger than a plastic straw, whether it be a Plastruc (sp) tube or a brass tube, that should work though. I think I'd use epoxy to attach the tube to the inside of the cardstock, just to make sure nothing shifted inside.

That's a really good idea and one that can be used for anywhere in the kits where you could use chain.
