I have too many paint pots... way too many! Before it used to take me a while to find a certain pot in the middle of the mess that was my desk. No more! I re-tasked Arenaworks as an equivalent paint rack with pretty good results. Now I can find any paint pot at a glance, which is a big big big time saver and (woe to my pocketbook) it's expandable The whole thing is also a testament to how strong the paper models really are. There are 50 paint pots spread over the 5 terraces or 790ml total plus container weight.

The size of the terraces is perfect to fit 12 pots from Vallejo Model/Game color or Reaper master series paints. The citadel paint pots tho are a bit too big and will only fit the lower "step" tho.

Nice. The terraces are normal builds? Not reinforced with foamcore?

Absolutely. It's a straight 110lb cardstock build. The only thing I did was paper clip the terraces and towers together at the base to prevent a paint pot disaster.

Very clever build and use of the set. Is it an inkJet print or a LaserJet print, as the laserJet would/should have a tiny bit of spill resistance before it soaked anything up.

Funny, I was just attempting to clean my office area after completing the mall and found a "tub" room from First Light serving to hold various small bits of hardware, wire ties and the like. I guess it's the only survivor of the great Mouse Massacre of 2007 when my hero version was...eaten.

*EDIT* Looking at the pictures also gives me an idea in regards to the next GM screen I build with World Works - I like having a shelf for putting/hiding miniatures on, and this would work great for just that. I just need to mount a two story C.W.U. wall behind it. Thanks again!

Heh - I went one step further - I punched holes in the roof of the square towers and added three internal 'steps' under the holes - they are perfect for holding brushes, with the highest step in the back, so I can keep twelve brushes organized in each tower when not in use. I use the short, flat topped, square buildings behind the main terraces to hold my large bottles of cheap craft paint.

This was a great idea, and I likely would never have thought of it on my own - thanks again.

I discovered afterward that it is best to add some dividers between the steps inside the brush holder - otherwise the brushes can slip down. Still pretty easy, and can be retrofitted without any difficulty.

I am bumping this, simply because it was a great idea, and would make a great Christmas gift for anybody who paints their own miniatures.

This is cool, and if I ever get a proper desk to paint at, i'll probably do it.

I have a wide shallow drawer that I have all my GW paints in, the lids are all dotted with the color. So that's my system.

I have been tempted to do something similar for my cardstock supplies, but always seem to start a different build instead.

Well, I took the plunge. I started building this an hour and a half ago or so. I wish there were cut files for this, but oh well. I am now done printing, cutting, edging and folding the stands. I have just glued my first one together. I have to break for lunch and putting my daughter down for nap time.
