First off, I would like to say that CWU can be a great undertaking. I am glad that I didn't decide to build this as my first set, as I may have gotten completely discouraged. This combined with a crazy schedule for the past few months has put a halt on building anything. Hopefully me posting this will bring back that interest.

The picture seen below is just a pictures of the pieces that I completed a few months back threw together. It is not the final layout I will be using. Again, my goal with posting is to spark my own interest (and maybe even do they same for someone else out there).

I think that I will start on buildings now since the gear-like mechanisms are rather tedious...and also I didn't print the chains yet and am currently out of color ink.

Now, see, that's just sweet.

I would love to see the finished build, as castleworks Unltimate is one of the few sets that I do not own.

How's that for bringing back interest?

That looks like a pretty good start. Looking forward to seeing updates on this project

That's a lot of work so far, can't wait to see how it progresses. Very Happy

Nice! Love seeing CWU builds. Just keep chugging along and before you know it you'll have a ton of really useful modular bits to do crazy layouts.

Keep us posted!

I didn't get to work on this yesterday as I had planned...today looks promising though.

I am running out of things that I have printed. No color ink...plenty of black ink tho. Maybe I will go black only as a test for some things (we shall see how desperate I get).

Alright, I finally got some ink. I also was given some transparencies. They are meant for plain paper copiers as overhead transparencies, but I thought I'd try anyway. the ink doesn't stick...it smudges really easily. Is there a way to make the ink stay?

I am really only concerned about the chains for the gate, since cardstock probably won't work correctly in that spot. I have debated a few things (like placing clear tape over the ink, spraying the page with something, etc.) but can't seem to come up with an idea that would work. I haven't tried anything yet.

Walmart sells small packs of transparencies. I cannot remember for sure but I think there like 10pages for $7. But they might be cheaper, I'm not sure.

This is a pack of 100 though...I don't really have another use for them. Too bad.

I grabbed a pack like that from a garage sale. I haven't used them yet, but I'm considering taking them up to the library and using their copier. Perhaps just printing off a bunch grids in both sizes. Then I'll just build everything gridless.

That's not a bad idea. You could even use dry/wet erase markers on the reverse side and never worry about it coming off.

Talae this looks great. It is always cool to see other peoples finished work, or even works in progress. So how much time do you think you have iton this project?

Since I posted these pics I have done a few things, although not much. I have to finish up my the buildings and make most of the crenelations. I think that's pretty much it though.

With the release of TLX and now access to Robo Cutter, I want to finish this and get a review up so that I can continue my new found obsession for building with the robo. I figured I would post a picture for all to see and pose you with the quarry: "Which things not yet built (mostly props) are a necessity for a CWU review?"

I have followed this build (Thanks LD2062) and have a few finishing touches that aren't present in the picture to follow (mostly flags and ladders). The reason I ask the above question is that I feel that my time will be better spent on the modular nature of TLX compatible sets, which fit my specific gameplay needs much better.

Great set up. CWU was always a favourite of mine.
