Years ago I bought some mayhem stuff but never used it because I thought I first needed a few more sets to complete a nice build.

Two weeks ago I had my birthday and turned old and wise and asked for some more mayhem pdfs. Well, to get me kickstarted the guys gave me not only the mall, bits and industrial, but also printed out the entire mall and two hollywood flats. Just to get me started.

Well, my first buildings are almost finished and here is a work in progress shot:





While the Hollywood flat has been build straight fromt the printout, the warehouse has been built entirely on foamboard.

I'm not glueing the wall of the warehouse together, but use metal linkers to keep the wall connected. Any time I'm not playing I can easily take the building apart and put it in a box.

And off zourse I have to show you why I need the World works scenery...

Here is our last (big) zombie game. There are quite some (old) foam buildings on there which could use some improving or just replacing. Probably we are going to do another game in two weeks, so I need to finish some building before that. Though the mall still looks a bit too daunting too built. (and anyhow I ran out of foamborad again).

We had a special game last night. Bacause of my birthday I managed to invite quite some people and have a dead meat party. We started out with a nice BBQ, some desserts and a few beers. While I was cleaning up and doing the dishes (putting them in the dishwasher, my friends build up a gaming table for the 2nd part of the evening. A nice zombie game

The setup looked very good and was filled with a total of 104 zombies. We decided to play the game without a zombies player and try to move them together. The idea behind the game was the following.

A group of survivors shows up in the zombie infested town wit their cars/mobile homes/vans which had just ran out of fuel. Actually one of the reasons for going back into a zombie infested area was to get fuel. However, the towns power supply had to be restarted for the gas station to function. However, the town also had a radio shack, which could be used to contact other survivors. In game terms, a helicopter could be brought onto the field if the shack was activated. Furthermore, there was a small Ammunation depot, where players could get better supplies.

We put all our survivors together and everyone was allowed to choose three. This made up a grand total of 18 survivors, armed mainly with close caombat weapons and pistols.

First the survivors showed up as one group:

The survivors immediatly formed a perimiter


The zombies however now became aware of them


One group of survivors went into the relativly empty junkyard, which was located next to the gas station.

The junkyard is easily cleaned, but some noise is being heared from the other side of the fence that the survivors still have to cross



In the meanwhile, Mr Duke tells some zombies that nobody steals his chicks and lives!



The zombies are now on the move and all zombies within 50 cm were allowed to move towards the survivors.
The wooden fence appears quit usefull for keeping zombies at bay.



Duke however has no fence near him as a zombie shambles towards him and tries to bite him. Duke easily avoids the zombie



However he didn't notice that a second zombies was also moving towards him.



Where is Duke now? Right, Duke went down quite fast. maybe running around on your own is not so smart withlots of zombies nearby



The survivors in the junkyard just let the zombies climb over the fence and easily pick them off one at a time


The streets near the setup are also getting emptier


The other end of the town however still has a few "walking" dead shambling around.


Another group of survivors tries to take a short cut towards the radio shack. Their plan is to cross big open (basketball) field, which will gave them sight to all zombies, which should make it easier to forsee problems.

Meanwhile the fence is being crossed and zombieparts start flying around


More "dead meat" arrives


The cunning open field plan backfires a bit, as zombies show up behind the survivors.


If only the way onto the filed was empty...


The Gastation is within easy reach. There are not that many zombies in plain view. Things might get easy


The last survivores leave the vans behind and start moving towards ammunation and the power plant.

The zombies are nicely waiting (in lin) their turn to get slaughtered.


The last (really?) zombies near the gas station are being dealt with


And the field is finally within reach due to some nifty shooting and hack 'n slash. (though there are even less survivors left)


The gas station doesn't appear to be working yet, but some noises are coming from the nearby buildings.

Ammunation has been cleaned out and some kevlar suits and better guns were found (assault rifles, a machine gun and a recoiless rifle)


This is a good thing, since the zombies now start pouring out of the buildings


Same thing happens near the gas station


One survivor found a hasmat suit (the lucky git)


The zombies are gone (for now) and the power plant has been turned on.



Fuel has cannisters have been filled.


One group of survivors manages to get back to the vans with just enough fuel to fill it up.


Here they are The priest on the ground just died due to being shot with a machine gun. Honestly it was his own fault. he tried to make use of the mayhem and take out the depraved goth chick that he could not get along with. Allthough he shot het with a shotgun, her kevlar protected her and she had the bigger gun...


The radio shack is in sight, but what is that behind the glass doors?


More zombies come out to play


Working together, the zombies are easily dispatched.


While waiting for the helicopter that is on it's way, the last of the "locals" get shot.


Another happy ending


All in all, we had a great game and a lot of fun. We used the rules from Combat Zone to keep everything easy and it worked very well. The zombie rules are (again) the rules that Pil has written and can be found in the combat zone chronicles.

What I also forgot to mention. As a present, they guys gave me the Mayhem MegaMall from Worldworks (and Mayhem industrial and mayhem bits) pdf's. An even more brilliant (though I suspect they also hope to benefit from it) they already printed a lot of the pdfs for me. Guys, you're great!!!!

Nice battle report, thanks for posting. I liked how you used toy-sets along with regular miniature terrian to fill out your playing area. I cannot wait to see what you do with the WWG terraian.

Wow.... that's some great battle reporting. It's always very inspiring to see that much effort and detail go into the report. I can't wait to see what you do with the WorldWorks builidngs. Sooo much cool stuff, so little time.

I already managed to finish the first buildings, but ran out of foam, so the next buildings will have to wait until I've bought some more.
Next projects will be a few more big flats and hopefully the police station.

Anyhow, in eight days we are going to do another zombie game, so there will probably be a new report not long after that.

Am I seeing those pictures right... is that the Fisher Price parking garage spray-painted gray? That's too cool! I had one of those when I was a kid! (a LOT of years ago!)

Very nice. I especially like the fire escapes. You should post some pics here of how you made the warehouse collapsible. That was a neat idea. That has come up in threads here before, collapsible builds. I also really like the sidewalks. They look great.
