Since I first showed my semi-detached houses in my previous battle reports I have had a lot of requests for more photos and more details on how I made them. Now all can be revealed. Truely impressive - not just the build and the fine result but also the backstory in the detail. Did you map out first what you wanted or did you just start building knowing that you wanted four bedrooms?

Are you using normal cardstock, or something stronger for the exterior walls? They, along with the rest of the build look wonderfully straight and clean.

@ Zenguy. As Lord Abbadon said, before I could reply, (thanks Lord Abbadon ) I use mounting board, as it is called in the UK or art board as it is known as in the US. That is true for all of my models, be it a building, vehicle or piece of street furniture or interior furniture. That is why you never see warped walls on any of my models.

@ Lord Abbadon. I didn't map it out before hand, but I had very firm ideas of how I wanted each house to look. Once I had decided on the layout it was just a matter of choosing which pieces of furniture to place in each room. Most choices were obvious, given the sets I had to play with.

I got something similar planed with mayhem armory set, making a apartment complex with 12 apartments. 4apts. per floor - 3 floors w/roof access. Will post pics of it when I'm done.

Love it too and now have lots of ideas on interior designs.

I have just started work on a apartment building too. Going with 4 shops on the round floor using the armory and magamall sets. Then building up the apartments floor by floor

I should be putting the shops together this weekend so will try and get some photos. Hopeful i have sorted out all my printing problem that I had with my 1st project.

Do you think the Shellendrak Manor sets would be helpful for added interiors to the Apartments?

@uther_dracus. First of all, welcome aboard! You'll find this a friendly and helpful forum. To answer your question, Shellendrak Manor will undoubtedly help you with your apartment interiors. The floors are useful but the interior walls less so because the windows are not compatible with the apartment's but that is not an unsurmountable problem if you use the wall sections without windows in. What is useful is the furniture, since you get far more than comes with the Mayhem apartment in the Armoury set. I'd also recommend looking at the furniture in the Mayhem Police set. I'll be posting pictures of my Mayhem apartment in a future blog-site review. Best of luck with your build and I look forward to seeing any photos of it that you'll hopefully post.

Being a reasonable photoshop use i can drop the window in the right places or as i have done so far repainted the walls of the shop with the magamall paint work.
I have been printing off some of the police set for the apartments but at the moment have been working on the shops.
I have also used a corridor and the stairs from the police set for the apartment stairwell.
I have enjoyed reading your blog site and recommend it to one of my friends who also likes Zombie figures.

I plan on using this design for my city fight (now called Cities of Death) campaigns in 40K. Just going to have to Photoshop the interiors to look all busted up.

Lol - small world - Hi Uther - good to see you and I seem to have similar interests (Miss Freeze here). It does seem like Photoshop can really help with getting the kitbash element right, although I did manage to get Paintshop Pro to get a modern office built out of some of the Mayhem elements. Nevertheless am going to treat myself to Photoshop Elements for my birthday to start expanding my building variety.

Also been following Vampifan's stuff and loving it. Inspiring stuff.

Lol Well you did give me the idea for my Shadowrun game, when you were going on about your layouts.
I just cheat when it come to photoshop! I work with CS3, soon to be upgraded when they get round to it, and have photoshop 10 at home for those last min alts.
