Hi everyone. I can't keep up with all the fantastic WWG products that have been coming out. I placed quite a few photos in the user pictures. Also out of space in the gallery. I will delete file folders if needed. What great inspiration WWG has in this community. I’m amazed with all the talent and creativity that is created/built from the WWG sets. Last year was also rough on me. Lost my job with the company last June when they decided to outsource our graphics work to another country to save a buck. Haven’t found a job yet, still looking. Did take a basic web design class last fall at a local community college. Thought it might help me on the job hunt to have my resume on line. I went on line this January. Very basic. As usual Curt, your work is just incredible. I hope the game store is appreciative of their unbelievable tables... Do they get used frequently? Some in use pictures would be amazing...

As always, your works are truly inspiational. Those gamers who feel that paper terrain is somehow inferior really need to see what you've done with the craft. You could definitely win them over!

Thanks everyone. If you made it to my web page, you now know how bad my addiction to building paper models is now. I’ve been building models for many, many years.
I was so happy I found WWG. I mainly use paper models from books, games and the internet. Nothing original from me. For the strength of my builds I spray mount my print outs onto mat board and foam core. I’m never without my Elmers.
On creating the game boards just a month ago, Gamerz took the fantasy board to a local anime convention and Tim the store owner said it was a big hit. The advertising on the sides of the game boarder was a great promotion device for his store and I hope for WWG too. I went to the lumber store and bought a 4 x 8 masonite board and had the board trimmed 2 inches off the top and side. Cut in half, creating two 46” x 46’ boards.
On edge of one side of the board I spray mount then placed the 10 inch ground tiles 4 x 4 (40 inch square) leaving three sides (3 inches) empty to print out my advertising down the side of the board. Then trim the access paper off the three border sides. I hope this makes sense. You do have to be patient. Can be stressful making the section line up. They’re not perfect, but work.
I want to start a new project. Tyranids are coming out with new models and I
have a kitbash from caveworks and the Mar set to create a game board and terrain of mountain/hills with caves running threw them. (Like swiss cheese) But I should finish the last two PCON port builds. Must focus.

Didn't stay focused. Built the mars game board. I'll start creating terrain this weekend for boards. Photos to come.

Built some small terrain over the weekend. Working on the large piece this week, a large hill or Tyranid Hive. The base has three craters/ burrow holes I will build around. Everything is kitbashed. The Atlantis builds are kitbashed also.

My build was going well today, but one glitch. I have two places on the base boards not cover with a ground tile. Of course I now have a door/opening right in front of the bare spot. I must come up with a fix before adding the last large wall before moving on to my next steps. Walk away mode. Tomorrow is a new day. I'll be adding the second and third floors, stairs to those floors. Stairs are never fun. Then start building the exterior hills to the outer large walls.

I should have built the whole thing larger, everything seems tight.

It really is a addiction. WWG releases a set. I put a twist to it and super size it. I just get a vision and have to get it out of my head. This kitbash has been waiting to be built for a couple of years. With the large game board I believe this will take gamers to another level of experince in gaming. With the WWG products you really can build your own worlds.

Your work is inspirational to say the least.

I'm a recent convert to the craft, and I have to admit I'm likewise addicted. I started modeling not a week ago and I went out yesterday to buy a printer and stock up a card stock.

Seeing the endless limits of what you can do makes me want to go home and cut out some more card stock! (there's print outs on my desk I printed before I left this morning... poor print outs aren't feeling loved x.x).

I'm inspired and awed.

Hi Candi, welcome to WWG, you do sound like you have caught my fever for paper modeling. The community forum at WWG is a great support group for questions and motivation when building your WWG sets.

My work on the Mars cavern project was interrupted Wednesday night. I have a new house guest for the next couple of weeks, We our assisting my wife’s family on providing care for Lisa’s mother. My mother in-law’s Alzheimer is at a stage where she needs constant care. A sister was living with and providing care for Lisa’s mom, in her mom’s home. But things were getting to be more than the sister could handle. Lisa’s family needs time to place her into a care facility. Being unemployed I was the quickest fix for the family. We’ll have her mom for the next couple of weeks. Then Lisa will fly with her mom to Seattle and one of her other sisters (of 7) will take care of her until a facility can be found for her special care needs. Lisa’s sister in Seattle is home all day and has cared for her for a few weeks last year and everything went well with her mom’s stay. Lisa’s mom is looking forward to seeing her daughter in Seattle. I’m not used to being a caregiver. Lisa will be taking half days off of work until we know how much care my mother in-law will need each day. My parents have had health issues also. My father has prostate cancer which evolved into bone cancer. He is not in a lot of pain, but very week and on oxygen. This could be his last year with us. Even though I’m unemployed this has given me more time with my family. This is the last week of my unemployment checks, but my unemployment has been extended. Just don’t know for how long.

Back to my Mars project.
I’ll just have to see how my days go with my mother in-law in the house and will upload photos when the build is finished.

I'm not into sci-fi gaming but these are neat! I like the hills you've built; same concept can be used in other ways.

I’ve added more photos. Mars Cavern build is complete. I’m really happy how the build fell together. I wanted to have this finished in a week. Just too many distractions. Had to shovel snow out of the drive way three times a day.
After laying out all the terrain on the game board, looks like I need at least two more small terrains to fill a couple of the empty spaces on the board.

Wow Curt, just WOW. You get so much more out of these sets than I ever put into them or could possibly have imagined., I don't know how you do it.

Thanks Matt. Coming from you that means a lot. I couldn’t do it without you and the team at WWG. I draw a lot of inspiration and creativity out of the great designs that always come from you and the WWG team, I love your work because of all the small detail of objects that are in your sets that can be combined together to create so many options in my builds. I’m very grateful to be allowed to kitbash the WWG sets and show photos off my finished builds in the WWG gallery.
I haven’t purchased the Lost Halls of the Dwarven Kings yet, another fantastic set. I have a few ideas for its use in an upcoming project this summer.
I was excited to hear WWG might be participating at the GenCon in Indy. I hope I might meet you and the rest of the WWG gang at the convention. I know,--- no details yet.
