WOW!
Coming to a store near you? Online only? Only physical packages? Buy the clips separate (and PDFs of the rest)?
So many questions....but looks GREAT!!!

Nope this is an entirely tangible product (might have to change the description to make that crystal clear to the PDF crowd).
You punch out the walls, floor, elements from a die-cut, heavy gauge, pre-printed card and clip them together using our patent pending TerraClips connectors (transparent connectors).

Question, are the build examples shown able to be made with ONLY 1 set?

In some cases the builds shown are actually smaller than what is possible. They are fairly accurate representations of the kind of build yields you'll get out of these packages. Its hard to show everything that's possible with something this modular.
Best advice, read the product descriptions for a much clearer sense of what's included. I hope to get some photos up in August of the product in use and video tutorials up in September.

Argh. I am not at all certain how I feel about this.
Part of me is very glad that you have something like this underway.
A bigger, more selfish, chunk of me is wishing that it were TLX compatible - I love those textures, they look fantastic.
But I don't want to support two mutually exclusive formats. If I have to pick, and it looks like I am going to have to, I will go with TLX. Being able to pick and choose what I am printing up is too big of an advantage.
I was about 90% wrong in my personal guess as to what the Big Secret Project was - I was guessing preprinted TLX tiles and walls - and that was part of the reason the TLX Mounts were on the horizon. The only parts that I had right were that the sets were preprinted, and that they would not be available as PDFs.
I am not complaining, exactly, more like whining. I want these sets, but as something that they are not, so... they... are... just... out... of... my... reach.... I would buy them, even if they were preprinted only, if only they were TLX compatible.
I really do wish both you and Wyrd the absolute best of luck with this, and I am certain that there will be plenty of TLX goodness to keep me happy, but... I... wish....
The Auld Grump, I want my cake and to eat it too, dammit!

Size wise they are compatible.
You just won't be able to direct connect from one to the other, but you can easily build around it. They should sit side by side well with only what looks like a small step in thickness.

Lol...that's ok Grump, I fully expected some to weep openly. I would just like to clarify two things for you right now;
1. We are not discontinuing or stopping the development on TLX PDF products. They are our primary bread-and-butter and we still have many releases in the works.
2. TerraClips is a tangible product intended for a specific section of the market. Basically it comes down to two groups; those with no time and those that do not have the skill or patience to deal with PDF terrain. TerraClips cost is almost on par with the materials and time users dump into PDF terrain construction, so I can see a lot of people trying the format to save some time. It also benefits from the same modularity that makes TLX so great.
That said TerraClips is something we've been quietly working at for a few years now. We sincerly hope it takes off because that will be a win-win situation for everyone. The more support we have the more terrain you'll see in both formats.

Nice! Very nice! And a very reasonable price point, counting the number of sheets involved and comparing it to Wizards' (much less visually interesting/relatively poorly illustrated) Dungeon Tiles.
I'll definitely pick up the Buildings, and probably the Streets.
Couple questions:
- Are connectors included with the Building/Street packs? (I do see the separate price for those.)
- Have you tried using the connectors with printed PDF terrain?
Thanks!

Yeah, overall we're pretty happy with the pricepoint respective to what you actually get in each package. Our manufacturing partner worked very hard with us to keep costs down and quality high.
You'll recieve a free TerraClips connector package with each purchase. That's 40 T-Clips, 40 L-Clips and 40 I-Clips. Its plenty to get started.
The TerraClips connectors are specifically engineered to work with 1.5mm card and the TerraClips form factor on the dies themselves.

What are the things made out of? Plastic, High Quality cardboard (board game stock) what?
If its something like plastic, then I can see using some easy tac on blank TLX foamcore and temporarily fitting these components onto it as a means of compatibility.

Its essentially a high quality 1.5mm thick gameboard-like material, with a satin finish, laminated stock on both sides.

Exactly what i´m waiting for. Is there any chance to get this stuff in Germany, maybe at Spiel 2010 in Essen?
Are there plans for furniture or minis to clip together^^.
Greetings from Germany

Same feelings here. Founately I currently have only modern TLX sets. So maybe I'll go for TC for the fantasy games.
Anyway, as always good work

Okay. Wow. I mean. WOW!
Most important question first: How fast can you get this stuff to retailers in Germany? Spiel 2010? (Game Fair in Essen, Germany)
Then: How's the future of the TerraClips range looking? Are we going to see more big sets like the ones here or are there going to be boosters, too?
What about diagonal walls (which would require a new type of Clip)?
Is there any hope of the textures getting converted into TLX format too? For those who have the time and prefer the compatibility?
I love it, I really love it! Great idea for you and I really hope it works out, opening a new slice of the market. I do share the Grump's sadness over the non-compatibility to a certain degree, though. Not that that'd stop me from buying.

If the support is there we'll look at doing a props pack covering some essentials (chairs, tables, beds...that kind of thing).

I imagine you could probably make the floor tiles TLX compatible by simply having a clip that's the same dimensions as a TLX tab on one side, with a clip on the other.
The clips look to be spaced the same as TLX tabs so it should be doable, although they might be pricier since the tab side will need more material than a normal clip.
Something like this when viewed from the side:
The right hand side would match the dimensions of the regular TLX tabs and voila, floors at least would be interchangeable.
Maybe a later expansion, a bag full of TLX-Clips for the same price as the normal clip packs.

We'll be sure to give everyone a full distributor listing on the official TerraClips website. We certainly hope we'll have representation over seas.
| Quote: | | Then: How's the future of the TerraClips range looking? Are we going to see more big sets like the ones here or are there going to be boosters, too? |
Depends entirely on the response to the first wave of releases. If things go well we have a number of potential releases ready for development. You'll see a mix of big and small sets in future.
| Quote: | | What about diagonal walls (which would require a new type of Clip)? |
Diagonal walls are 100% doable and do NOT require a special clip.
| Quote: | | Is there any hope of the textures getting converted into TLX format too? For those who have the time and prefer the compatibility? |
That depends on specific licensing agreements with TerraClips partners and related properties. It really depends on how things play out long term.
