First time post. I've been building a few models using TLX over the last two years, but recently finished the harbour master. Hopefully I've worked out how to post pictures. Please feel free to comment.

Wow. *lovely* build! I've always liked the harbormaster building. It was the first set I tried converting to TLX... It really deserves a texture refresh - maybe that's what my next project will be!

Thankyou for the kind words. The harbour master was built for the fun of it as I don't really play the associated games anymore. This was the model that made me want to buy WWG products due to the interesting staircase and platform arrangement. Having it in TLX would be brilliant as the model has so much character. My grand plan is to build a little village/town nestled between two cliffs, like the kind you would find in Cornwall or west Wales (such as Portloe). I say grand plan, because having a plan and sticking to it are two different things...

Either a tavern or more Thoumonts (for standard homes) is a high priority and then some ramps from Himmelviel. Once the basics are done I can look to flesh it out some more. I'll take some more photos when I've got the time to set up my other models.

Yes, I must agree very nicely done there.

I needed to get an idea of where I'm going with this build so I put something together based on bits that I had already made.

The harbour master hasn't been included as I didn't want to obscure the rest of the build. Now that I've got a good idea of the start I can think about framing the sides with cliffs. There will be more height when I put together more posts.

Sorry for the late reply. Work has been intense over the last month or so.

Grey Pilgrim - I have built the Maiden, but it involved a lot of choice words on my part and there are aspects of it that I am not overly fond of. It currently resides in a box and when I get a chance I will post a picture of it.

Mproteau & Ninevah - Thanks for suggesting the roof kitbash. I have been aware of it for some time and was actually considering going in the other direction, using the slate roofs on buildings such as the Fiesty Friar. In my mind I feel that this might tie all the buildings in together and create a more cohesive look. On the other hand the brightness from the cliff tops may result in such a large contrast that having differnt coloured roofs will not look out of place. Regardless of my choice, the input is very much appreciated and a different perspective gives me something to consider, before making that decission. Please continue to make your valuable suggestions as I find them useful.

There are two things that I dislike about the current layout. The sewer grates in the harbour wall seem to break up a horizontal line in the dock. This makes them look out of place and they will probably be replaced by the standard wall. Furthermore both of the buildings are rectangular and in order to make them visually more interesting I am going to have to make more use of L and T shaped footprints. Plenty for me to think about.

The docks build looks great!
