Hi everyone. I downloaded some of my recent work into the gallery. But I'm having some glitches with the downloading. I hope to download the rest of my pictures soon. The only ones that loaded were the pages I created for my new builds. They’re many more photos to come.

After I finished the Hellmount Temple, I spent most of November creating these pages. December I started assembling them and working out the bugs. In January I started to try and create alternative building using the kitbash pages. And February I got tired of working on those small builds and I'm now working on a tri-fold 4' x 3' Hellmount Castle. I am to start phase three of this project this weekend. I'm over halfway complete. I hope to have finished in a month with photos. I have photos of phase one and two.

Dang, Curt... looks like you put some serious work into this!

You did check with Denny on this, right? Because, as far as I know, something like this would most likely *not* be publishable as a official kitbash file!

Would make for a nice stand-alone set though...

Thanks for all the compliments. I don't mean to torment anyone with these kitbash pages, but my pages aren't set up to be fold friendly. I fill the page space with my images, then trim them out and spray mount them on to a mat board to create my builds. I've let it be known that I would give these to WWG if someone at WWG wanted or had time to convert the pages to a fold friendly kitbash. My work isn't as high a quality as the WWG sets and still have a few bugs in them. It could be too much of a hassle to convert. I do have to thank Paul again for doing such great work that inspired me to create my builds.


I'm also having trouble down loading pics into the gallery.
It tells me the download was completed but no image appears in the next step. When I close out a new window appears which says.

I guess you can tell I figured out my problem on loading my photos into the gallery. Operator error. Hope you enjoy. It's been killing me to hold back all of this work I've been doing.

I am going to try and explain my latest work by the by individual folders in my galley.

The Hellmount Kitbash Set
After completing the Hellmount Temple I thought I challenge myself to creating a castle/fortress. I had quite a few pages already made for the temple. I normally work my designs on tabloid size paper (11” x 17”) (less seems) but I stuck with page size to keep it Kitbash possible. Also I wanted to make these builds stand alone pieces for mix and matching on a game table In November I finished creating the pages for my builds, it was over fifty pages. Testing my work. I had to go back to the drawing board quite a few times. I definitely understand what the designers at WWG go through. It’s worst for them because I’m not thinking about the folds. My set in paper would double in size. Plus when I started building the castle I would have to create a few more page to meet the new problem at that moment and I’m not done yet. I have a photo sample of the build pieces after I spraymounted them onto matboard prepped before gluing. Some section has an image on both sides of the matboard. On the radio show Paul mentioned how many Kit pieces are squared in design and a lot of my stuff is just square boxes, but I try and break up the square ness by adding many various sizes of building shapes into or next to each other. (If that makes any sense?) The photos of the set of buildings on my kitchen table are separate pieces stack on or next to each other. I believe many combinations can be created. I’ve been creating cardboard dioramas for over ten or years and they hold up well in gaming abuse. Two-thirds of the items are leaving for the game store tonight for a trade and I’m showing them the in-production castle for negotiations. That always keeps me inspired to build.


Hellmount Kitbash Creations
These are some of the extra builds I had left over from the testing and glued together to create these samples. The tower incinerator has a fireplace on each side and the fire is different heights in all of them. I hate to be to repetitive with my designs. The cavern temple turned out better than I had hoped. I envision priests prying in the cavern to have the two alters on top summon up demons to let loose in a game or they’re a double sacrifice alter/thrones. The tower I see some winged demon perched on top ready to spring down raising havoc on the people below.


Skull Overpass
This was my first attempt to create a kitbash. They became the tabloid size cavern mouths used in the temple building. I plan to build an individual gaming set of the mountain section from my kitbash and the Skull Island set. Sometime in the future. I hate to see these pieces collecting dust. I sure my latest builds would fit great on to some hills and small mountains. I have also just printed out a fold-friendly version of the Skull Arch which with Aubrey hand holding I think we can get this into the kitbash section. I going to slap it together tonight, photo shoot and send it on it way to WWG. No promises.

Hellmount Castle
Very large project. Again what was I thinking? I started by purchasing a foamcore tri-fold project board from a hobby/craft store. First time I’ve tried this with a fomcore base. The river board was done using a tri-fold cardboard base. The middle sections 2’ x 3’ and the ends are 1’ x 3’.

This will be a long project. I don’t want to cover the kitchen table up for two months. I set up a card table and two TV trays in my room for the first phase of the build.

Phase One
Step One: Placed my blood/lava moat onto the center of the board and where bridges will cross over moat.
Step Two: Build the inner square moat wall and place a foamcore top over it.
Step Three: Build the outer moat wall around the moat and bridge walls. This becomes tricky because I must break the walls at the fold.
Step Four: Now I create long strips of wall section for the outside perimeter. This is when a second pair of hands comes in handy. The wife gets involve. She’s not thrilled. Something about the pressure. I don’t know what she’s talking about. I play stupid. I need her help during this part.
Step Five: Wife’s out of here, back to her art/writing hobbies in her upstairs room she shares with the cat (PrisPot).
Step Six: Place floor tiles down behind the outer wall and entrances (2 doors on each side)
Step Seven: Build back section of wall and place walkway on top
Step Eight: Small glitch. Started building the wall and walkway for the outside wall of the moat. The longer sides of the board have less room between the two walls (moat/outside wall). I had to build a stair into the wall to save space. (small pain) I had to create four of those and they are built right at the fold.
Step Nine: Add the corner and center block tower foundations which will combine into both walls.
Step Ten: Prepare for Phase 2. What the h!!! is that. Since I don’t know what I’m going to do with the center section. Phase 2 will be me adding towers, stairs, moat bridges and other castle knick-knacks

Phase 2 should be done this weekend. I had an emergency this week. The 3M Super 77 I use which is special order (original formula) spray can. ran out. No problem in August I bought a whole case of twelve cans. I go to my shelf witch holds the precious box of spraymount, open it and bad news. I made a mistake of not checking my order when I received it. Opened the box, full of new formula which sucks for me. Worthless, I spray it on the paper, mount it on the cardboard and I’m lucky it doesn’t fall off the board onto the floor before I start trimming. Made a call everything will be taken care of. Out of production for three days. Quality time with the wife Good to their word. UPS delivered yesterday. I’m a happy model maker again.

Completed Phase Two this weekend. Latest pictures are in my gallery. Now to tackle the inside section from the moat to the center. I’m going to start with building the center section, separate from the large city piece. Then glue/mount the section onto the city piece. That way I can build out from the center to the moat walls to have a better idea of my space issues. Hope it works. It’s a plan. I’m also going to try and create a crosswalk across the moat from the second floor level across on the center two long walls sections Taking a break for a couple of days from the build before plunging into the next phase. Still needs more planning.

Phase Four is to be able to make at least three interchangeable top section pieces for the center section created in Phase Three.

Why is it I am always drooling when I look at the stuff your building
If somebody would tell me you we're making this...I would just shrugg my head and snigger in disbelief
But seeing is believing
This is becoming an incredible masterpiece
