Well, I don't know if it helps when more people show their interest in the GSD files. But I AM interested, no matter what

The main problem with making GSD's for older sets is the work involved. You would have to reformat every page to get the parts to fit into the registration lines. You can't just make GSD's from the current pdf's and just run them through as is.

So you are looking at hours for reformatting, then several hours rebundling them and hope you don't loose any image quality, then many hours creating the GSD's, testing each page.

Now you have a different version of the same product. And everyone would probably have to be charged again for it which would cause lots of moaning from many people. I sympathise with the concept of "But I already purchased it" But now your looking at someone giving up over a week (or one solid one) of their time for this.

I'm not saying it won't get done or not be offered in the future. I know once exams are over I will have a bit of time on my hands and will probably make them for personal use. My old fleet got squashed when a heavier box got placed on top of their box.

Anyways, don't take this as a negative post I just wanted to let everyone know a part of what might happen if they are offered.

I know I want retro GSD's for every product!

Its not really a question of the money but of the time to get the files reformatted and new GSD's created for it. We're just spread way too thin at the moment.

Okay...Work on the conversion is going well...All the ships are done...just need testing. Most of the Game Aids are done. The TOS units are done. My main concern whilst converting has been to leave the original parts from the pdfs intact..and bar the Carrier I have managed to do that so far
That leaves the Command trays to do, and I have a question.
I am not going to do a machine cut for anything that needs mounting on foamcore..I think thats just a waste of effort.
Some of the parts of the Command trays are simple cuts by hand, and too long to fit inside the cutting bed without splitting the part.

Should I machine cut the sides of the part that can be cut?...or just leave those few parts for hand cutting ? Two of the parts...(The back of the trays) I do not want to split into parts

The Command trays are the only parts where I have not been able to resolve any cutting area issues

Please let me know what your preferences are folks.

Ok folks...The .gsd files are done, everything is cleaned up and the .pdf's are repackaged as close to the origionals as I can
All I need to do now is test all the files , print cut and build.

I didnt rush this...i figure that the folks at WWG are not gonna even look at anything non TCP until after the convention

Its not a totally knife free conversion...some of the parts that involve fold over sandwich folds still benefit from leaving a small tag of card along the fold..just to help alignment of the fold, I tried to make these as small as I could whilst still being functional, but easy to cat away

Likewise some of the foldovers for tokens I have left a few long cuts to make...so that we are not gluing 50 million token parts together after the machine cuts them all out.

All in all , I think what I have done works, I guess i need to check with Aubrey about what comes next

Wormhole is one of the WW purchases I haven't done ANYTHING with just because of the cutting. My wife is buying me an SD for Christmas.
