couple more questions:

When you printout a grided page, are the 1 inch grids 1 inch with the last row being cut off short? Or does the printer smoosh the image? (Meaning all the squares are really rectangles)

Also if you create a 7 inch by 7 inch square outline (to not waste ink) in an art program like gimp or photoshop, does the same thing happen?

If there is smooshing image happening I would suspect your driver settings or the driver itself. If there is a 'reset to default' settings you could try it. Otherwise maybe re-install the printer drivers.

If there isn't smooshing happening (squares instead of rectangles with the last bit cutoff) it's going to be trickier to figure out. - what part is being cutoff as the paper exits the printer? top bottom or left right?

Just to reflect what Mr.O said; this is 100% a software issue not an issue with the core files. I can say that with confidence merely because we have such a huge pool of users/builders who have not had issues with the modelsets (and we are REALLY careful not to screw up scaling).

So that said we need to make sure that "fit to page" and or "scale to fit" or any other scaling is turned OFF. This is found within Acrobat itself AS WELL AS your printer driver settings. If all of that fails unfortunately its probably an issue with your printer.

One last question. Since you're in Acrobat Pro 9(I run the same prog) you have the ability to change the document and then save it again with the changes made. Make sure you haven't altered the original WWG file.

Like Mr. Unger said... the original files are 100% square and to scale. However I don't want to rule out a file problem as the original file could have been altered and then re-saved using Acrobat Pro (if only by accident it could still be different than the original WWG file).

If you think the file suspect: Try downloading the file again. IIRC WWG lets you have something like 4 downloads.

I tried a quick "how would an oops I goofed the doc work" mockup. I found it pretty easy. ALT-T-A-P, modify with keyboard or mouse, enter, enter, close doc and click yes to the 'save?' window. *POOF* you now have an original looking file however it is indeed a munged file.

Most of those commands are defaulted once the ALT-T-A-P has been initiated. Might sound crazy but if you have a feline animal in your house you'll know I'm serious in that ANYTHING can happen when they pounce on a keyboard.

This seems to be a problem with some printers - mine included.

The obvious solution is to stretch/shrink the image sent to the printer so that when it prints it ends up the right size. Unfortunately, my brief attempts at doing this in GIMP haven't been successful.

Anyone know how to use the GIMP to stretch or shrink an image by a fixed proportion in one dimension only ?
