Yup, I used the Alpha version of the planner to work out my promos for Canals. It was INCREDIBLY helpful!

Looks flashy... can I hope it's been built in something like Adobe Air that might run on my Mac?

I have tested this on my mac (Black Macbook) - no harm no foul.

o.O Unless I've been coding in my sleep, we are not one in the same. Is there really another programmer out there who goes by m0nk3yb0y? I don't even really use the name much anymore.



It's built in Java so it should work on Windows/Mac/Linux without a problem. I will do my best to test it prior to release to make sure that no major glitches arise because of the operating system that is used. I have a very helpful team of beta testers keeping my work in check.

Keep in mind the teaser posted by Denny is a mock up, but the final version of the program should look nearly identical.

I can't wait. This will help me so much with both print lists and layouts after stuff is built.

Are the various himmelvale sets going to be released as modules or are they integral to the software?

We'll be releasing TLX planner tile sets for free as each set comes to market The software itself is retailing for a VERY low pricepoint so that we can maintain, support and expand its capabilities.

Hmm, no, the M0nk3yb0y (pretty sure it was the same, or similarly idiosyncratic, ummm, spelling...) from Dungeon Crafter did some tiles, but was not one of the code monkeys for the programs. Let me Google a mo'

Nope, Google only has the Dungeon Crafter 3 forum cached, and the old site has been removed from Archive.Org.

Dungeon Crafter was a tile based mapping program, so I was wondering. I still use Dungeon Crafter, (and some of my tiles and adventures are still in the Legacy area of the DC III website )and it would have been nice to hear from another member of the gang.

I did find a bunch of other M0nk3yb0ys though, so it seems to be not all that uncommon a handle. Just coincidence that two folks with similar handles got involved with tile based mapping programs. (About as likely as two Steve Jackson's getting involved with RPGs, one here in the States, the other across the pond.)

Hmm. Can we see some kind of feature list?

Usually I use Masterplan. And I was going to make a tileset for it (or ask u to give out very low-res versions of the tiles).

But I'll wait to see your planner.

BTW. Most of the Masterplan users use D&D Dungeon Tiles, but if there is a TLinx library it could be a good advertising I guess. It's easily done and all you need are tiles used in a set (each tile in a separate file).

Will this be a stand-alone product purchase, or will it be included in any purchase of a full TLX set?

I belive I 'll need it as I was thinking take again the cutter with all the Himmveil (a lot of time without things to do...not finding the time and being a bit lazy lately) but today I take it and began to think how to build streets/canal/sewer...but all the 3d build is a bit difficult to do "on the fly" you need planing it quite well... So that tool can be good !

Answering random questions...

* This is a standalone purchase. Lots of work being done to make it something which warrants its own price tag and to support upgrades.

* Feature set will be revealed when we are closer to releasing the first Beta. Suffice to say, the planner is customized to TerrainlinX and various feature sets which are unique to WWG.

Hi ! one request if there's still time...will it be posible to store what you do ? I've purchased recently Fantasy Grounds (only to store there the information of the campaing...to get rid of books...) but I was thinking about use the tiles to make maps...so if I could store the plan made into jpg...it will be a great point !

Glad to ear that ! will try my luck again... it will be 1:1 ... I've used photoshop to make a few batlemaps of my own...will it be more easy with that aplication ? - i can put tiles toghether and get a jpg that will be 1:1 size or it will be smaller ? and the nex question when ? I want to begin to build, as I've in my mind what I want for the last Rippers module in Hollow earth, a sewer-canal-street...but I belive I'll need that planner (and will it have into account 2-3 levels ? ... I know, I know too much questions

It's far easier to use than Photoshop for creating maps.

The maps can be saved out to images that are comprised of the tile images that are used in the program (which are small versions of the normal tiles). Maps can also be printed out directly from the program which are automatically resized to fit on a single page.

The editor area is comprised of tabs that can be added or removed for different levels, maps, areas, etc.

More or less then I undestand that it's easier that photoshop but I can't get the 1:1 that I neede to send it to print in a battlemap (no problem as I don't belive I would make more of it...they're not cheap and the quality -dpi printed- are a bit blurry...not but for caveworks-the 1st one I made- but not Whoa ! for Hinterland) !

Hopping it arrives sooner that latter !

I'm curious as to just how much lower the DPI will be? The standard products are 300 dpi - how low will this go? 72 dpi used to be the standard for monitors, now it's up to around 96 dpi. Will that still be possible? (ie: will it be possible to generate a JPG that will look more or less identical on-screen at 1:1) Printing it out would still be 1/9th the quality of the official product, but I can see the concern there...

I really need this software ... I can't quite visualize a layout without it. I don't want to over print stuff either. So how soon to the conclusion of beta testing? Just wondering.

We're fairly close to an initial release based on the features we need to get a workable public Beta out there.
