Hi,

I've been searching for 1/4" black foamcore from the various craft/hobby stores and office supply stores around here (Dallas, TX). It seems that 3/16" is the going "standard" for foamcore. Where all have people been finding 1/4" foamcore?

If you're buying foamcore for TerrainlinX, you can use 3/16". I did for my promo builds and it worked fine. You get some extra "play" but nothing that conflicts with how things function.

We rounded up the system to use 1/4" and or 3/16" to maximize the options available to the end user.

There just seemed like a lot of play when I did my first test piece. It was less "hand in glove" and more "BB in boxcar", or so it seemed. I know that the print itself is good, as I've measured the resulting pieces. I'll try it again to see if I was just being overly paranoid.

I just finished my first tile yesterday. I could only find 3/16" foam core at local retail (Central Ohio). I didn't like the way it fit together when I glued it up, but now that it's dry I don't find the slight play in the "skin" to be a problem. I am going to try adjusting the score line for the tabs by 1/16" on the next one and compare the results. I do think a tighter fit would provide more strength for upper floors, but maybe it's a difference that won't make a real difference.
