Isn't Denny's baby almost 2 now?
If so I would hope he has been sleeping through the night for a good while now. I know I'd be going insane if my 2 year old was still waking up every few hours.

Yeah Lucas is turning 3 next month (wow time flies) but he still wakes up every few hours. We just had our baby girl Mya on December 1st.

So, we're averaging about 4-1/2 hours of sleep these days...lol.

Will we be able to share and distribute saved planner files to others that have the software?

Any plans to make/host a searchable repository for planner files? (Bonus marks if it's seamless from within the software itself...)

Yeah but barring Himmil, they are freaking a heck of a lot better than some places (reaper)...

You will be able to freely share saved plans for others to crack open and modify to their hearts content. You can also spit out PNG files if you just want to throw out a quick overview of your layout to those without the software.

We are still developing a more robust system for handling automated sharing of these files. As it stands now well simply be linking (from within the planner) to the TLX Planner portion of the forum. From there we'll provide additional links and info on how you can share your layouts. V2 or V3 of the planner should incorporate automated sharing routines in a more streamlined, potentially browsable format.

Will this software just cover tiles/walls,
OR will you also be able drop the props in various places on the map.

Also once you have everything set, will you be able to print out a list of pages needed to make the build? (The second I could see being very hard to do, but it would be very useful little feature)

You're just going to have to wait to see. Honestly though, we're very close now so the wait won't be much longer. Brant just finished the near release ready candidate last night. Its more of an issue of me juggling various releases during this busy time.

One thing I'd like to emphasize is that this is V1 of the planner and we FULLY intend to add features based on user comments. I think you'll be surprised however at what we've managed to incorporate here in the initial release

Will future upgrades (i.e. to v2 and v3) be free for owners of v1?

You bet! You buy it and that gives you access to free upgrades/updates. The only thing that may change that paradigm later on is if we do a more robust overhaul of the planner into something much more substantial. Initially though, updates will be applied to the core purchased download. We want this planner to hit a number of functionality benchmarks before we move on to anything bigger.

Will it have a built in updater, or will we have to download the patches / sets manually?

Initially it will require a manual download of a new copy. Keep in mind though that the program complete with tiles for all TerrainLinx sets including Lost Halls comes in at under 2MB. The program also does not require an install and is completely portable, so you can toss it on a flash drive and take it with you if you want.

Denny and all, I'm very excited about the software package! I'm a relative newcomer (but my Silhouette arrived yesterday ) and as soon as I get some cut and paste under my belt, I hope to contribute to the forums.

All I can say is that the release is currently in Denny's hands. I have a feeling he's preoccupied with family stuff as he's been pretty quiet.

Will we be able to mark off in the preferences which sets we actually own so that only those tiles show up when planning or possibly if we use a tile from a set we dont own show up in red so we know "hey you should buy this. you know you want to" type of thing?

Kind of. There is a manifest that lists what tiles are being used and it is divided up by the various sets. This manifest is shown in the editor and can be saved out to a text file or printed straight from within editor.

The list of tiles themselves is separated by set and can be collapsed/expanded for ease of use and to only show what sets you want it to.

There is also plans for further additions to make knowing what you need to print versus what you already have made a lot easier.
