As mentioned elsewhere; tile sets will be focused exclusively on official TerrainlinX releases. This has more to do with maintaining a certain level of quality and focus while delivering a solid product throughout development. It also plays into future developments which we can't discuss yet.

That does not however mean we would be completely opposed to license arrangements with other companies or symbol set kitbashes or add-ons. Unfortunately that will take time to organize as we have to set specific guidelines for those submissions. We'll discuss it though.

In the mean time we'd prefer if feature requests were handled officially. We'd be more than happy to add things outside of our current paradigm if they meet a certain demand. Please copy your feature request to the following: http://www.worldworksgames.com/forum/vi ... 810#107810

I like TerrainLinx but it seems to come with an abandonment of the pre-TLX model sets. You can't do craft robo cut files for them to share or have their tile sets in the TLX planner. ??????

If they are that old and out of sync with 'the future', you ought to cut the price of those sets. But if they still provide decent sales, you should support 'upgrades' ... to them all, not just a couple if that.

Just my opinion. I know you are busy, undermanned, and all else ... and I am not in the best mood since I bought a lot of those old sets, which I must upgrade all on my own because there is no sharing of the burden under your present policies.

That sums it ... for me at least.

Well Delta, all I can do is stress to you that we aren't cold, calculated machines here. We're a small business and I think we have a pretty good track record of listening to user demands. If we can figure out a way to implement older WWG tiles into this paradigm without putting a massive stress on extremely limited resources, we'll certainly give that a fair shot.

That said, the planner is specifically catered to TLX and the unique qualities/capabilities of that whole build system. We felt it was important to give people a really clear sense of the whole "you can build multi-leveled layouts with TLX" because frankly, we felt people were still struggling with what is a pretty unique concept. The TLX Planner gets that across in a way that wakes people up to the possibilities. This is where our initial focus sits because people are responding to the new format in a very strong way.

We aren't abandoning our old catalog, we're simply evolving beyond it by constantly improving and pushing the limits of what can be done in this medium. The older sets continue to sell just fine but we'll certainly look at a price shift should that trend ever change. We are rebooting our kitbash section as well so that users will have new fan generated add-on's for older sets as usual.

Also, some of the older sets (Streets of Mayhem come to mind as well as First LIght) had model planners and links to those are on the Store Front for those products. They are simple SWF "programs" and I've used the SoM extensively. You can even download them and use them off your own PC (not sure if WWG condons that).

And yes they are not as "spiffy" and you have one for each one and can't mix and match, but this is a 1.0 release.... I'm betting that someone will figure out how to get those older sets into it without it requiring massive amounts of man hours.

Of course I don't expect that till 2.0 minimum, but depending on how WWG will be handling the versioning (usually its x.y.z, where X is the major release, massive new features, etc, the y is a minor release where things are added but they are not major changes to behavior and the z is for maintenance, ie fixes rolled in and not ENG Hotfixes given out to specific customers)
