This is really the first of a number of potential expansions specific to modern city infrastructure. I can't get into it openly yet but you can expect that we'll hit all of the needed areas. If you saw something in the old "Streets of Mayhem", there's a good chance you'll see a TLX equivalent but done in a much more grand, standalone fashion There's some rich material there to cover.

I'm actually working on a FREE traffic light booster at the moment which I'll make available as soon as it's ready. Its designed to specifically work with TLX and stores flat when not in use! It was something I needed more time on to work out the engineering bugs and tweak graphically.

Within the past 30 days, I purchased almost the entire set of the Streets of Mayhem. Now that the new TerrainLinx series has been released, will I be eligible for an upgrade or do I have to purchase the product again for the full retail price? I would really love to have the new set since I just purchased a new Robo-Cutter............but, since I just purchased the other 10 sets sets at full retail, what would be the chances of allowing me a free upgrade, or at least at a reduced price?

If you check my account you'll see that I purchased 6 of the Mayhem series directly from you, and another 4 Mayhem series from Paizo.com (before I found your site). I do have a copy of my receipt from Paizo if that helps.

Answering your question is difficult because what we are really talking about here is the natural curve of innovation. The merits and advances of the 2010 TerrainlinX system vs the antiquated 2005 way of doing things. We launched TerrainlinX this year with our fantasy city of Himmeveil to refresh, and reboot enthusiasm for our terrain and to advance the entire market forward.

Respective to that I'd like to make a couple things clear; Streets of Legend is 100%, newly created, original material designed for use with the TerrainlinX system. One might try to argue that Mayhem: Armoury #1 fits a different category but it too has undergone massive conversion efforts and enhancement in a number of unique ways, both in terms of textural tweaks/content load and of course the shift to the hyper-modular TerrainlinX standard (which is why it needs to be a 3-part release). What I'm getting at is that both releases represent significant time and resource investments to reboot the Mayhem line. Support from purchases of older catalog releases has helped us to innovate and maintain a healthy pattern of growth.

I'd also like to make clear that we aren't "rebooting" all old Mayhem settings. We are taking things on a case-by-case basis and only investing in conversion/expansion efforts on products which have a specific flexibility and need. The Armoury series is really an experimental release launched to answer the flood of requests for official conversions.

All of that said; I understand your potential frustration and I sympathize with your position but I hope the above clarifies some of the issues. Please feel free to contact me in private if you wish to discuss this in depth.

So the new mayhem is going to be 2" format as well? Just wondering so I can get bashing out some things that I need! (like Fences, The walls from M.Rail etc, etc....)

No problem. Based on the fantastic work you guys do with the terrain, and the cost-effectiveness of your products, I really don't mind spending the extra money to get the new sets. They look absolutely awesome, and as I mentioned, with the Craft-Robo, I should be able to build them in record time (provided I have the time). Anyway, like my mom always said, you never know unless you ask. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, and keep the great works coming. I'm hoping you consider continuing the re-builds of the rest of the Mayhem series!

Thanks Sacretis. Yeah, it was a massive load of tiles to make this one happen. It was also a surprisingly enjoyable process There's just so much potential with everything in this format. I can't wait to push other aspects of infrastructure further.

Blue Thunder; Your Mom is a wise person! If you didn't ask, someone else probably would have and its better to deal with this stuff out in the open and in an upfront way. I hope that we can exceed your vision and really make the TerrainlinX version of modern settings everything you could ever want it to be.

There's so much potential here, its just an issue of how to package it up and get it out there to the masses in an enticing format.

I wasted no time (or money) in buying the two new Mayhem releases, and I wasn't disappointed. The work is outstanding as usual. I'm assuming (please correct me if I'm wrong) that since you chose to re-release the Armory, that you may be re-releasing other popular models from the Mayhem series. One of the things I was most impressed about is the three different themes (clean, urban and apocalyptic) and I was wondering if you're planning on keeping these themes consistent throughout the new releases (I hope so). What you have accomplished so far is amazing! On a large gaming table, one can build an entire city that goes from "clean" to "apocalyptic" on the same table. It would be awesome if we had the option of printing "apocalyptic" type buildings with fire damage, windows blown out, walls collapsing and maybe a few "rubble" piles and 30 gallon drums with fires burning. I'm sure you get the idea. Anyway, I'm more than satisfied with the new releases and I look forward to future ones, especially the police station (if it's in the cards).

Wow! Is there a Nobel Prize in Terrain? If so the WWG crew is the clear winner. I am having so much fun building these TLX sets. My six year old son keeps designing game boards for Heroquest. "Daddy we need more stairs and bridges" "I need a bigger room for the ogres Daddy." They are so cute at this age.

I love that game. I got that as a gift when I was a kind and a decade after I stopped playing it it started me down the path here. I had painted the heroquest figures when I was a kid and a relative remembered and gave me some reapers to paint for Christmas a couple years ago. While I never did stick to the painting I did have a continuing interest in the minis and looked into terrain for them. I bought some of the mageknight castle stuff and some castle building cards before finally finding WW.

I've tried a bunch a mini games since then but none have suited me as well as heroquest. I like the collecting and leveling up without a real heavy role playing component. Sort of like tabletop Diablo.

A friend of mine has started working on a Gamma World fanzine for the Yahoo Gamma World Group.

I think that I am going to order a second copy of SOL and give him a copy to play around with. (He has helped me move, in the past, so I kinda owe him. ) I will see if he would be willing to show a layout in the mag.
