If it is a game, I'm buying! Even if it isn't, I'm probably buying.

Our only clues are that it is "substantially bigger" than Siegeworks and that him talking about it would give it away. Hmmm...

Movie License? It would be wicked to be able to build movie settings.

Ok, I have to retreat on this one. Seriously I want to share but I can't yet do so. Very soon though guys. You'll see all sorts of madness occuring over the course of the next 4 months. Wonderful, glorious things.

Denny, you can't tell me you wouldn't want to tackle some epic fantasy movie terrain! Once TLX evolves to its full potential, there really isn't much it couldn't tackle. Sure, there are some facets that would need tweaking every now and then but it is doable. You just need artistic permission to "copy" some sets. LotR and Harry Potter obviously have buildings that are licensed to their respective producers and there have been several sub-licenses granted to commercial replicas.

However, generic fantasy films really have no license over their buildings, to my knowledge. Some buildings do have governance over their use, I have heard, though I cannot recall why or how use is restricted. It is said that certain buildings were not allowed to be fully inputted into Google Maps for this reason. All likenesses of certain buildings must always be from 1 view. That would make building a 3D commercial replica impossible.

On a side-note, the great folks doing the WW2 mod Forgotten Hope 2 for Battlefield 2 just got a cease and desist for building a map about a fictionnal town in 'Saving Private Ryan'. So anything that is in movies is a touchy subject that involves legal foresight.

Obviously. However, if you are building ancient Greece or ancient Rome, the producers of Troy and Gladiator have no legal control. For fictional work, there are far more technicalities.

That said, my post was all wishful thinking anyway. Right now, I am content with grinding through my Thoumont's, Himmelveil, and Dwarven sets. When Denny makes his big announcement, I should have some time to devote to the new beast.

I can't help but wonder about the portal idea either.

Though it could be water related like submarines and whales (that would go great with the Atlantis set).

... or maybe it has to do with Acraetia. That would be cool.

Given that this company kept it's recent Mayhem TLX releases under the name of 'Black Sheep', I don't think we can draw too many inferences from the name 'The Breach'!

Agreed. In this case, I think "Breach" just means something completely new. This could be why all the redo guesses that we made were wrong.

I was looking at Minion Games (I am thinking about picking up Those Pesky Humans) and at the bottom of their page they display this as "Coming Soon".

This is obviously a WWG product and maybe it is this "Project Breach".

Well, the timeline is definitely in the "next 4 months." I wonder if Denny knows this is being advertised off site.

Sorry to confuse the issue but that is not the project we are involved with. This gets a bit complicated but long story short; we explored a potential project with Minion some time ago and that image was used in those talks. That relationship did not pan out though. I'm not sure why Minion is using that particular image to promote their product.

No, we have something a bit more ambitious planned.

I must say I was feeling underwhlemed when I saw that product.... mainly as I have an inkling about what's coming.

On the flip I knew it wasn't right as DragonLinX is a still-birth line - not a Breached Birth.

Sounds very good to me too. I'm so glad that all of this good stuff is happening this year.

But I just have to add that despite all of the advances, I will treasure forever the 'Mayhem Junkyard'. I just love that set! However any thing SF and/or apocalyptic would still be quite nice.

Oh, I really hope so, because it could lead... eventually... possibly... to steam trains....

I first heard of Malifaux on these boards too, and am actually painting again.

Is there any chance it could be the cathedral Menace was working on converting, expanded from a kitbash into a full TerrainlinX set? A cathedral taken over by invaders from a portal to hell could definitely be considered having been breached! And introducing modular versions of those kinds of components would definitely be ambitious!
