You've never seen this guy, he built a copy of the demo CWU castle that Denny is standing behind on the product page in less than a week. He builds faster, and with fewer errors, than anyone else I've seen.

(Yes, he copied this one.)

He then enlarged it over the next few weeks, aiming at Gormenghast.

It would be enough if he was just one or the other, that he is both fast and good is totally unfair! The only thing I can tell myself is that he didn't do interiors at all on the castle, and if you are going to wear the Maiden as a hat I suspect that you wouldn't do one for her either. The idea of a had over 2 and a half feet long is daunting as well...

How he manages to do it I have no idea. He has a good printer, and does layout for a magazine, and used to do it by hand.

Oh, and he uses a razor blade for the most part, not an Xacto, and I have not asked him what he uses for glue.

Wait. He built a copy of the WWG demo castle??? Does he by chance have a layout for it? I think I got most of it figured out, but some areas confused me unless Denny moved bits around for certain shots.

Posting is a subset of dawdling, pertaining not to building but to writing... The times when I sit at the keyboard and wondering what to inflict on my unsuspecting players/supervisor/editor next.

Usually at the points involving math.

Well, I finally saw the ship hat. It looks...silly. Chris came in 3rd, which I gather paid his tab for the night, which was enough. There is a picture up on the wall of the pub I gather, one each for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and everyone in one big group photo. I don't drink, so I have not seen the photos.

Inside the 'hat' is held in place by criss crossing strips, while a folded cardstock trough secures the masts to the deck I had wondered how he would do that. When not being worn there is no way to see that it is a hat. Seeing it on Chris did dot remind me of the Time Bandits giant, he is a bit too cheerful looking. I gather that for im the high point was when they sang Saint Brendan's Fair Isle where some of the customers started lauging as he bobbed his head in time to the music, with the ship going with it.

The sails were the best part in my estimation, I may copy them if I ever finish my ungridded Maiden.

He has not yet started back up on the wall sculpture. So I guess he did stall on that project, at least for a while.
