DeadFall is a western setting. There is a lot of work yet to be done here so please take the below teaser with a big chunk of patience on the side. It is among a number of projects we are working towards.

In short, yes - they ROCK And they have the usual GW production qualities; lots of full colour, plenty of examples and illustrations etc. I've enjoyed the heck out of mine, and this terrain set (once it's released) might well tip me back into some western gaming of my own.

The Warhammer Western rules - Zombies? Other than Savage Worlds what else has some undead in a tumbleweed mini ruleset.

Yes! One thousand times yes! It is one of my favorite games. It uses a modified LOTR ruleset with the Mordhiem campaign/experience system and is really great fun! I can't recommend it enough.

The D6 Generation didn't have very good things to say about WH Historical Old West since it gave very little detail about shooting.

They recommended Gutshot.

I had asked mainly about good Western Rules and SeattleGamer gave quite a good review of many different games. You can search for threads with him and me and Wild West.

As far as supporting undead...

You could try Chaos in Carpathia with the downloadable suppliment for the Wild West. Chaos in Ciro v2 might also be good for that since it covers about the same time frame.

EH the abstraction of shooting in game is part of the appeal to me, it's fast, fun and deadly

Have not tried either so I am unable to really speak on anything. Just providing options.

I have tried Chaos in Carpathia but not the western suppliment. Since WWG didn't offer any and I thought that White Wash to too much $$ for the cartoonish style of buildings, I've not done anything with westernsalong with the western suppliment.

The Rotund Lizard has a western set but the buildings again do not look authentic western to me.

But CinC is a hoot to play and has undead so it might suite Mr. Wormwood

I'm really hoping that WWG does the old West justice in what it offers.

Not quite as good, in my estimation, as WHH Legends of the High Seas, but then there is a reason I was sitting up all night on the release of the Maiden.... (Given the choice between pirates and cowboys... umm... arrr?)

Though it is worth mentioning that there was less difference between the buildings of a seaside town and a western one than folks might think - a dirt road is a dirt road, and a shop is a shop. The letter face on the signs may change, but the designs are similar. The biggest difference will be doors that are meant to survive coastal storms do not look much like the saloon doors in a western. Then again, the saloon doors in Montana didn't look much like the ones in westerns either....

*By eyewitness accounts the mellified corpse of Alexander the Great was around for at least 586 years, and was then lost. Not rotted, just lost.... Honey used as grave goods can still be eaten over 5,000 years later. Neat stuff.

That's actually why this thread is no longer "stickied". (though I should have locked it).

Deadfall was to be a standalone setting, then as explained earlier in the thread, there was a lot of discussion with a partner regarding its fate (Wyrd). That whole issue left Deadfall in a sort of unknown zone for some time. Fast forward to the present and Deadfall was put on hold while we created 3 other properties for the upcoming TerraClips line.

Anyway, its not that Deadfall is dead. I still have plans to bring a really cool Western setting to market. As with everything else though, we can only do so many things at once. Part of being open with everyone regarding upcoming projects is that occasionally it can spawn frustration when things don't go according to plan. That openness isn't something we're likely to change though.

We'll get there.
