Nekokoneko, that's actually the very set that Tomas built! He shipped it from Germany so that we would have it to display at GenCon - amazingly awesome!

Nahh ... its good to have national pride and its very understandable. Hmmm, I think the 'Singing Nun' came from Belgium. I still have that album, which includes the lyrics and sketches.

It’s funny you should say that. I had a big discussion about this with Mel somewhere else. Belgium must be about the only country where people have no sense of national pride whatsoever. Something to do with being occupied by all kinds of foreign nations all the time. Even Belgium’s independence was the result of a drunken night at the opera

And you know what the worst part is? Coming from a country that has invented the fries, that makes the best chocolate in the world and that has made brewing beer into an artform. And what do people remember you for?

Back to the thread: When will the garden set be released ... any news on that? And when are they going to release the cathedral set as well? They are in my budget ... just waiting, and waiting, and hoping to purchase them soon!

I knew none of that - I only knew about the beer, and yes, Long Live Belgium Beer's!

Difficult question, as it is not entirely in my control at the moment. The electronical files are mostly done, but I need some time to build the dungeon part. And I am swamped at work at the moment which, in combination with my wife giving birth to our third kid 6 weeks ago, sometimes leaves me a bit stretched for time

Apart from that, I am waiting for my garden build to get back from Gencon, so I can make some nice pictures of it, together with the dungeon part.

As for the cathedral, that one is up next. I got sidetracked a bit on different projects (had to design the normal-height roofing system before making a 3" version of it, for example), but I am gearing up for that one.

When I think of Belgium I think mostly of Asterix. But also of fruit beer (in Brussels I drank the most strange beer in my life - cherry beer )

And of course I think of choco, strange beer and the EU HQ, and delicious quality beer of course, Mr. Dutroux (unfortunately) and the countrie infamous colonial policy back in the days. There is much to think of Belgium and to remember. I love this little country (especially because i am from a Eu-micro-nation too, and I know we little ones have to fraternize and ally against the big bad italians)

The Garden


“An elaborate underground garden lit by softly glowing light coming from glowing crystals in the ceiling twenty feet above. Gravel walkways wind between, cracked granite benches and surround a cobblestone fountain filled with crystal-clear water. To the south, a gently flowing creek runs across a pebbly streambed that passes through a rock garden and into an iron grill drain along a passageway to the south. To the north, a lone almond tree stands in alcove, while to the west, a double arch leads to a small circular room. So, is that massive Elevator/Crane-kinda thing that used to be on early (pre-TLX) promo shots going to be in the expansion? I thought it looked mighty nifty and would hate to see it lost in time and space!

I've been waiting for this since I joined the community. Glad to see it see the light of day. Best part is I get paid on Friday. Second best part is that I have the perfect use for it upcoming in my home D&D game.

Yes, it is. The original Garden had 2 parts: the garden and the dungeon. The elevator/crane kinda thingy (I think the official name for which is "the cage", but don’t quote me on that) is going to be the centerpiece for the dungeon.

Yeah, I was hoping this was going to come out in time for me to build it before my players got to the Garden of Stone Speakers. They had a blast in the Kelmarane Crypt.

Are there any specific instructions for building the Stone Garden as described in "House of the Beast"? How many of which pieces do I need? I'm sure I could print some stuff out and puzzle through it, but I'll take any help I can get.
