Hope there are lots of 3D rubble piles! Maybe a car with a body or skeleton in it ... hmmm, the list is making my head spin ... a feral animal pack. A huge sink hole exposing part of the underground subway with evidence of squatters using one of the cars ... dumpster and car barricades ... whatever, I know it'll all be good.

Can't wait to see what Matt comes up with! Right now about the only option for quality ruined terrain is Dave Graffam's stuff (which is truly excellent, btw).

A forum for urban exploration. Lots of pics of ruined modern day buildings, in various stats of dis-repair. Very awesome site!

The more I think about it what is always lacking in cardstock ruins is rubble piles ... rubble period. Having rubble just painted into the ground tiles isn't enough. You need 3D rubble hills ... partly flat artwork but then beams, rebar, or other 3D element sticking out of those mini hills of rubble to create real interest and obstructions. Just an opinion.

Regular ground tiles that look caked in pulverized cement would be great too. Just a whole atmosphere of grey and other muted colors (because of the dust everywhere). Broken slabs of cement we can place anywhere, which could make wicked ramps ... dangerous routes. Broken floors with parts that barely hang on ... neatly staged and reuseable hazards like that.

It's pretty good - I did crumple mine up to make it a more natural shape:


I've considered printing out the SOM rubble tile to be about 10% bigger, and then crumpling it up to fit on a tile (with random bits of foamcore under it) - I reckon this might work. I might even try it tonight now you've jogged my memory

Did you crumple before or after assembling?
