Not exactly unexplainable - three years(?) ago at this time of year I was using World Works material to create a collegium magicka, since then Thoumont's has come out, twice, and Borders has small kits for creating model Hogwart's from cardboard.

Even in the dream many of the textures were from Thoumont's, recolored.

That said, the idea of a TLX University of Magical Studies seems a pretty sound concept. Time it for Harry Potter: the Final Chapter, Part Two and you might get some new fish in the net.

Unseen University Cut Out Book - The Cunning Artificer's forum has an old thread from October 2006 with some photos of the construction of the model. A lot of the photos are not displayed because of the age of the thread. Some construction photos are sprinkled throughout the pages. Page 21 has some photos of the completed model.

I have the model book. It is around 0.75"/19mm thick printed on A4 paper size. The paper is 0.20mm thick which is around 65# cover or 110# index which is the kind of cardstock used by most folks here.

Of course I skipped mentioning one dream - it would have given Denny nightmares....

...but how do we print on sheets of chocolate? Don't get me wrong, I'll do it, I just don't know how...

I think you have to use one of those 3D printers, but replace the plastics with chocolate. I suspect that all the hard work will be wasted shortly after your players realize that it IS chocolate, though.

They sell edible paper and inks for decorating cakes and such...

Yep, you can have a photo scanned and printed on special edible media that can be applied to a cake. The final product is very impressive.

Then you might find this apropos....

Oddly enough, that is pretty much how the dream went, PCs trudging through Lost Dwarven Halls, finding a secret door and.... Yes, the dwarf in the dream did shout something, uhm, akin to 'that's not supposed to be here', only with fewer words and more profanity.
