so looking into my recent purchase of MiniChunk I see I need to build a Pro Masterbuild...mat. I am looking to do largish dungeons with this in the future and was wondering how others have done this with large area to cover.

I was thinking into building various 12"x12" areas as the foamcore I get is only 20"x30" - this way too can be modular, easier to store, and extra foam for extra parts.

my question is how have others out there done it with this set?

In the past I created layouts as close to the entire sheet of foamcore as I could, but after utilizing TLX, I think that I would recommend smaller sections. 12" squares are not a bad size at all or 14" squares if using a set with 7" tiles. This adds to the modularity and also help with warping of the foamcore over time (mine is often warped upon purchase.)

FIY, I've changed the title of your post so that it will attract the attention of those with Mini Chunk layout - hope you don't mind. (Because Mini Chunk works differently to other sets your question is more specific to Mini Chunk.)

In my case I moved on to other sets before I got enough much Mini Chunk built and haven't managed to get back to it yet (the problem of too many great new sets to chose from!). I did build a large board (about 30"x50" - convenient for the table we played on at the time) with a lip around the edge to hold the foamcore bases in place. When not using all the space I just pad out empty areas with unturned tiles from other sets and/or foamcore offcuts.

Zenguy: no problem on the name change, hopefully it catches more eyes.

I currently am trying my damnedest to build both the MiniChunk and LHotDK at the same time. both are great and I cant really focus on one to do - but I gotta do both before I pick up Thoumonts and Himmelveil sets ;p

I think I am going with the 12"x12" modular ProMaster Board, its just easier on my space requirements. We play on my diningroom table (dinner table) and must be able to be store away in closet.
