Looks awesome and very sturdy, and the clips look way better than the first batch. Do the floors come gridded? I can't tell from the video.

The video actually rendered out a bit dark, so look at the original promo pics for a better balance of how the clips blend. But yes, really glad we moved away from clear clips to a smokey grey. The original clear clips we showed at last years GenCon sparkled like diamonds and had this weird fiber optic, bright-spot effect.

On the grid; We've got a stubborn attitude when it comes to grids. Hide them at all costs! On the wooden floors we actually introduced a natural grid way back when we did Thoumont's TLX. Bob Cooper gets credit there for coming up with the concept. The boards are staggered in a way that shows 1" intervals and a darker band intersects to break each column apart. Here's a closer look:

What camera are you using as the vids are quite blurred?
Also the reason it could be dark maybe due to the camera adjusting itself because of the bright spots on the back of your hand.

i'd like to second the request in the other thread for a speed build vid, or at least an estimate of time for assembly for a typical 4e encounter.

Right now I'm spending around 10 minutes assembly time to build dungeons using my Plaster walls. Of course dungeons are likely always easier to assemble than city streets.

I could totally see a dungeon setup where you have pre-built chunks then you just clip them on, end to end, when your party hits them...

That's mostly to do with Youtube encoding. The original video renders aren't nearly as dark nor do they have as much compression happening.

But I'm open to donations for a high-def video cam



This is one of those issues that we can't really sum up for people because it depends completely upon what you're building for. Time invested will vary dramatically. That said, additional videos are coming and we'll see what we can do to further clarify. It also helps to preplan your layouts & organize your box contents so that construction time picks up.

Will these be coming to the Terrain Planner?

This isn't 100% confirmed yet, so I don't want to make promises we can't fulfill. We are looking at a potential planner for TerraClips but its a major time and resource sink and we'll have to see how things play out. What, when and how have yet to be determined.

Another Q: when you need to remove a level but there is a mini on it, what's your usual method to make sure that mini stays were it is? Blue tack maybe (I guess the tack would stick enough the mini without damaging the card?)

When a player makes the determination to move upstairs in any structure, I'd suggest removing that level first and then placing minis into it. In most situations you'll be removing other levels prior to that anyway, so that players can access first floor areas. Props on the other hand could probably do with extra security (I'd probably go with some of that nondestructive poster gum. UHU makes a good brand http://www.amazon.com/Saunders-Removabl ... I wasn't interested in this system at all, until I saw the video. I was going to be happy with my TLX but this is so much cooler (and easier says the lazy part of me )

With the Australian dollar where it is at the moment, it makes it even more cost effective.

Amazingly done! I can't wait to get my hands on this stuff! I am so torn as to which one to grab first. I can really only justify purchasing two at first...but which two? lol

I don't like the thought of putting a glob of anything on the card surface, but I guess the finish could handle it without a problem.

I would say (IMO) Houses, and Streets.

Justification, you can use the streets sets as a dungeon set, just as you can with sewers.

None of the other sets can be used to replace houses, and houses go together best with streets instead of sewers. (Though you could do sewers/houses and do a really nasty version of venice )

So, if you can get only two, I would say, streets and houses for maximum modularity.

Another option is to use the Post It glue sticks on the bottom of the minis and props. While it obviously won't hold them in place if you're tilting the level 45°, it'll easily keep the items in place as you lift and shift the level, and it has the added bonus of leaving no residue, etc. I found mine in an office supply store, but here's an example at amazon: http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotch-Restickable-Ounce-Stick/dp/B001AS994E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309282147&sr=8-1

I am perplexed so much because I have a decent amount of both Streets TLX and Thoumont's TLX. I don't know if it is enough of each, but I am tempted to go Sewers and Buildings for now because of this.

Awesome! I haven't been to the site in a while and this is all new to me. I'm super stoked because I don't have the time or inclination to build terrain on top of miniatures and game prep. I'll be buying these the day they are released. Is there a tentative date?

Excellent! It's good to see you getting a tangible product like this on the market. I know it's been a bumpy ride. I have a feeling we'll be seeing these all over the convention circuit later this year and next.

Yep, the video sold me. I like building the old fashion way, but time has been escaping me for quite a while now and this is a great alternative for my gaming needs--especially when some Sci-Fi sets come out!

And this people is why I raved so much about Matboard, that is the exact result with slight variations of modularity I got from reinforcing my builds on a thicker board but not to the extremes of Foamcore. I loved seeing you throw the building around to show it's durability, watching a castle tower go tumbling down a set of stairs made out of this stuff doesn't put ones heart in ones throat. I am so glad to see you going with this option as a build format and the more I see the more I can guarantee despite all the "we're not interested anymore" naysayers out there, you have got sales coming from me. This is what I wanted to see most from you guys and once more, you're raising the bar .

Shatterdragon, I totally agree with you. I'm a big fan of mattboard Or mounting board as it's called in the uK). I can certainly vouch for how sturdy it is.

Oh I won't say Foamcore isn't useful anymore. I've been using it alot more lately, especailly since picking up TLX sets, and now when it comes down to it the best builds I've done are a combination of Matboard, Foamcore and Cardstock.

However, I still have almost everything I've built from the start of joining WW's. I can say, if taken care of, even if not as much as you do your cardstock stuff, Matboard reinforced things survive where cardstock stuff didn't. I went through four moves in a shorter time than I'd have liked, I unpacked and repacked at every point and put my trust in others to move my stuff.

Amusingly the only thing I was worried about was the Maiden kitbash... guess which one didn't survive whole, though she is up in repairs at the drydock .

But what Denny shows there with the building, picking it up and tossin it around, that is similiar durability, the ability to store it flat and just throw it together is amazing, it reminds me of the Two Towers Dice towers I just built for my gamers out of foamcore, neither is glued but is clipped together, makes it so I can store them flat when I'm not using them (when I've skinned them in WW's textures they will appear in the appropriate forum section).

I loved seeing the pictures but was still on the wall about even looking into buying the sets. After the con pics that first came out I lost alot of interest as, well... I can make better ~chuckles~ any long term WW's member likely could. But then they went back to the drawing board and improved upon it. I was going to buy at least one set after seeing the new pics., but after this video I will be picking up all three, maybe more than just one of each. These will never replace my cardstock builds as I do those for fun and to see what I can do anyway.

These however will find alot of general use, and fill alot of short gaps, and makes my game portable if it needs to be, WW's stuff.... not so portable, at least not without alot of care. The amount you can store in one flat box for transport makes these a must have for any gamer who does need to travel with their stuff. I for one don't agree with everyone who's complaining about Clips, I understand, but don't agree. Looks like most of those will wait till it's already a successful seller, and after everything I've seen out there available, this stuff is going to soak up the market like a sponge, keeping only the most critical and penny pinching ones away.

I'd like to see one person say they can make a build as large as one box of each set together, of the same size layout, spending less than the cost of all three sets combined and the appropriate clips with any other purchasable terrain online (barring cardstock because unless you converted your printer or use laser, you might be horrified as to how much you end up spending on a cartridge worth of printouts, that and the build time already makes this a seperate class). Make it just as fast, and just as durable, and pay the same price and not have to put any manpower into making it other than spending a little under an hour (equal to punching walls and such out).

Then you can have reason to complain. Till then, this is what the market has been waiting for, someone brave eneogh to take the reins in easy, quick, durable and modular, and easy to store terrain. If a few people end up waiting till the sets and clips are offered together, it's their loss not the companies. In the end if the product fails all they got to see was pretty pictures online, if the product succeeds without their help (which it will) then down the line when additional options are added (ie clips and sets together) they will finally go buy it, and because you know if this is a success, and that this is WW's and they ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THE FORUMS and what people have to say or input for ideas, unlike alot of other game companies I could mention, then in future releases you will likely see the combo packs some are hoping to see.

I have recommended this to several local gaming stores and all of them are taking an interest where most of them "meh'd" over similiar "unmentionable" companies terrain. Keep it up Denny. I am glad to see ideas coming from variations of builds on the forums. It is nice to see a company take interest in their customers interests and opinions. It's what has kept WW's alive and strong.

I am not so much disappointed in the individuals who are passing up on this, as those who are saying "well I don't like it, so I'll make sure to tell everyone including my local store that they shouldn't buy it"... I mean wow, it is one thing to lose interest in a product yourself, but then to go say you'll recommend to people and stores not to buy or stock it? Just because you don't like the way they are selling it? Seriously?!?!
