Thanks to an ever increasing core of supporters here at home and a number of key developments in other areas, WorldWorksGames will soon be maintaining a singular presence online for the sale of WWG properties.

Over the past year, we've been hard at work developing a robust WorldWorksGames product range and user experience. In coming weeks and months you can expect wide spread improvements to our range of products, the community experience at large and shopping infrastructure. This is a very exciting turning point for WWG and we can't wait to share the journey with you!

During this transition, all titles will be removed from the DriveThruRPG & RPGNow network on July 11th and no new WWG titles will be promoted there or elsewhere. WWG is allowing DriveThruRPG and RPGNow to maintain private access to your previous WWG purchases for the foreseeable future. You can still access your previous WWG purchases from them via your account, even past the July 11th date.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the OneBookshelf network for carrying our products and for the opportunity. They are a stand-up organization and we wish them all of our best.

A good and timely move.

It's great to see WWG's presence grow to the point that such a move is not jsut logica, but entirely justified. You must be please to see all the work you've done to increase WWG's presence, including the slog of getting TerraClips to market, now surpassing the exposure WWG gets on those storefronts.

I am sure I'm not the only one to get an email today listing WWG in the "From" field and encouraging me to buy paper models from other companies on RPGNow.

They were careful in the message to identify it as coming from an RPGNow staffer, but opening something I thought was from WWG and having big pictures of Fat Dragon products be the first thing I saw was very off putting.

I hope someone at WWG is aware of this, but wanted to mention it in case they are not. This may have been legal under the contract between the two companies, but it was certainly a classless move on the part of RPGNow.

Before anyone starts breaking out the pitchforks and torches, take a deep breath and remember the old saying about never attributing to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I don't think anyone at OBS deliberately got up on the wrong side of the bed and suddenly decided to become Spongebob Douchepants. What I think happened is that a poorly considered decision collided with software limitations and turned into something much worse than it was intended to be.

Given their software setup, the quickest and easiest way to let WWG customers know about WWG's departure was likely the simple expedient of using their normal vendor newsletter functionality. Mail sent thusly would appear to be coming from the vendor, but more importantly, would reach all of that vendor's customers who opted into those mailings.

It looks, smells, and feels like a douche move, but I'm fairly certain that it wasn't intentional. Occam says somebody at OBS had a not-so-bright idea and didn't think through the possible consequences, and there isn't much more to it than that.

I remembered getting a WWG e-mail yesterday, but due to the fact I clicked on the e-mail and then in walked my boss I didn't get a chane to read it till like 2 hours later... And I had forgotten all i knew was I was looking looking at Fat Dragon adds... whcij I deleted

Its an unfortunate situation. The initial mail they sent detailing our 11th departure probably would have sufficed for most folks. Creating a follow up advertisement using our name and contact data to promote competing products, after we had already gone, is a bit of a blunder. But like Chris said, this was likely the most expedient way they could reach their base of customers for that specific target market. Poorly considered execution perhaps but understandable motivation.

Regardless, we continue to wish OBS/RPGNow/DrivethruRPG our best in future.

Well I guess this means I'll have to buy directly from WWG now.... Not that that's a problem, but I always bought WWG products from RPGnow in the past, simply because I'd throw in a couple of other gaming pdfs at the same time. However, I'm sure this is a good decision for WWG!

Knowing the gang over there, and given the way the staff is jet setting the Con circuit till the end of the month, I would say this probably the most likely thing to happen. Otherwise I'll just have to bop Sean on the nog, when I see him in a couple weeks.
