I know its all new and everything here and today may not be the day to ask, but I was wondering if our orders from RPGNOW will at some point be listed in our collections. I own everything Tlx and many other sets, but many of them were purchased from RPGNOW and because of that not all of them show up in the my collection area and therefore are not in the my kitbash area. Not a huge deal, I was just wondering. I absolutely love the new site by the way. Alot of functionality and organization are combined to make the WWG experience very user friendly and eye catching. I especially like the new timers on the work in progress meter. That was a nice touch.Thanks for everything Guys!

'Fraid not.

RPGNow order histories aren't going to be merged with ours for practical and accounting reasons. It was discussed prior to the migration, but we just don't have the data or accounting setup for it. The two main reasons:

-RPGNow/OBS are third party marketplaces--you are essentially buying our products from them and not from us, kind of like the difference between buying a TV at Wal-mart and buying one direct from the manufacturer's online store. As such, *they* are the ones with the customer data and purchase records, and they're the ones who RPGNow buyers have a business relationship with. We can't really do anything about orders that weren't made at our own storefront, as the data is in somebody else's hands.

-RPGNow/OBS are responsible for supporting their own customers, and have taken all measures to ensure that they can properly support owners of WWG products after our departure. If you bought from them, you're their customer, and they'll take care of you as far as your purchases there are concerned. We were just a vendor there, and vendors are nobody special on those marketplaces--they're just content creators who get paid a percentage of sales, not full-fledged business partners.

I realize it might be a bit of a bummer, but it's just one of those things that aren't terribly practical or cost-effective to implement.

What about allowing us to forward some sort of proof of purchase? Like a copy of the order email and a screenshot of the download page on RPGnow?

I'd much rather have all my WWG stuff in one place (here).

Yes, it would be nice to be able to have my RPGnow stuff listed. I bought some of the sets when WWG had some specials offered at RPGnow and in support of various disasters around the world. Sets like The Maiden, Wormhole, Himmelveil Canals, Streets of Mayhem. If it can't be done, I'll bite the bullet and continue on.

I also have a dozen sets purchased from RPGNow including all the Himmelveil sets and the Thonmount set. I understand that it is a big add on after all you went through to get the new site up and I can understand not wishing to take on another mountain. My only question/issue is the new (and I love it by the way) policy of kitbash access for sets that one owns. I clearly would not wish to repurchase the 12 sets I already own but would love access to the associated kitbashes. Just something to put in your thought que after you get a chance to catch up on some sleep.

Well, practicality and technical concerns aside, I do like the idea of having all product owners under the same roof for once, so I *am* listening very carefully to this thread.

If I come up with any bright ideas, I'll be sure to float them past you guys as well as discussing various options with Denny.

Just to reflect what Chris said, in an ideal world we would have a complete customer accounting from every other e-store out there and merge that data with our own. Unfortunately the logistics of making that happen are beyond our means for a number of reasons.

There are many reasons we decided to start the process of leaving secondary e-stores and giving customers 100% of our focus and care was one of them. There are unique benefits we can offer users of our storefront that we simply can't offer elsewhere due to technicalities and even contractual conflicts.

That said, we'll do what we can to accommodate users from other e-stores because put frankly, we'd much rather they felt at home here than elsewhere. Chris and I will discuss options as we move forward.

This is also something I would like to see. My copy of the Maiden and wormhole were bought though a special offer at RPGnow but I can understand that there are also problems involved with doing this.
I do love the new account pages and how easy it is to find your downloads.

I like this idea a lot. I don't own a huge number of WWG sets, but my profile only shows 2 and it'd be fun to see them all listed. Short of asking for copies of receipts, however, I don't know any way but the honor system to accomplish it.

*edit: wait, what about a quiz question for each product? For instance: What item is in the top left corner of page 5 of the PDF? answer: a sorta scaly blob thing. Well, you get the idea.

On the Quiz idea, one word: Piracy.

The bottom line is that RPGNow maintains active downloads for all of your previous WWG purchases made on their storefront. So you'll always have a reliable way of backing things up no matter the situation.

My question is since now the Kitbashes are free, is there any way that I can get the bashes for the sets I already own but were purchased from RPGnow.... If I do not have to buy the bashes separately it would be a big help.

The fundamental problem is that you can't fill something up with nothing. We don't even have the RPGNow customer data to work with, and given the total size of WWG's customer base, just figuring out who's entitled to what is a daunting task.

We need time and your patience to figure out whether or not it can even be done, and to figure out the best way of doing so. That's the best answer we can give for the moment.

I really appreciate the work done here and am glad I did buy from your site as all my purchases are now in one place to down load again. However I back up all my stuff from you guys to CD then it goes in my lock box at the bank, yes I value your work that much.
Have to make new back up set now for my today purchases. Managed to stay under budget so I can get another sheet of foam core.

For what its worth, we understand that everyone wants to experience the benefits of shopping direct. Its one of those situations where we simply had to pull the band-aid off to get the ball rolling. Access to free kitbashes for core release owners is something we've been working at a long time but due to the coding technicalities, it was only ever going to be possible for customers who bought direct from us. Resellers simply don't have the infrastructure to support what we've done here, their accounting and records support is variable, customer accounts are set up differently and compiling a 10 year list of sales history, from various sources, with uncertain, patchy (missing even) data isn't something we can likely resolve.

Like Chris said though, we'll be discussing our options and doing additional brainstorming. We really appreciate your patience.

Yeah, I get the whole piracy concern; that was just an off the cuff idea because - as you guys said - it's not feasible to get access to secondary stores' records. I'm not concerned about a backup file; I have personal & cloud backups of most of the stuff I've bought. I was addressing the desire that several of us have to see our RPGNow et al. purchases show up in our WWG profiles. If I'm not mistaken (I'm no expert here), you'd have had to write up and implement a Facebook-style API and then convince all your secondaries to use it. Yikes, but it's a moot point now anyway.

Bottom line, if I understand everyone's meaning here: it's a 'nice to have,' not a 'need to have' - and you guys have other things on your plate just now.

Geesh guys! Sorry. I didn't mean to stir all of this up like this. It got alot of posts pretty quickly! I was only asking to see if it was even remotely feasible. If yes, cool. If not, absolutely no sweat at all. I can get the few kitbashes I would miss out on cheaply here anyway so no big deal and as for the sets that were bought over at Rpgnow, back ups are taken care of as soon as I download, so thats not a problem and the signature thing is nice but like stated earlier, it's not even close to a necessity. Thanks for even considering it, but don't waste any sleep or designing time over it. Enjoy the site roll out, We all are!

As a middle of the road option, would it be possible to add "I also own" section to the collection. We could then select which products not listed in WWG collection to keep the info together at least. you could indicate method of purchase (RPGNow, Hobby Store, etc) but simply not allow access to the downloads.

Sure someone could simply add them all but they are only fooling themselves if they don't.

I like this idea. Allow badges but not file access. Speaking for myself, that's all I was hoping for.

Its something we'll definitely take a look at implementing. There's a bunch of other bigger fish to fry at the moment in terms of features we're still implementing.
