My personal favorites from this set are the statues and the secret entrance bookshelf.

These are cool props! Just started as a PC in a CoC local game. I gave the GM WWG's info to turn him onto the TLX system. Will have to nudge him again tonight with these props. -D²

Some of the work being done to convert Shelledrak into TLX is pretty amazing. The whole structure becomes so much more diverse and useful. I think its going to fill a lot of CoC scenarios readily.

Just so you know, the bookcase is from original Shellendrak...but the secret passage is new in the conversion (the old version's in there as well).

Are there two versions of the full bookcase (i.e. one with the secret passage, and one without)?
It's just that the pic with the full array of props only shows the secret passage version, and there are many times when we need a large bookcase:
- without a secret passage, or
- with a secret passage, but the players haven't found it yet.

I was just thinking that myself.... perhaps the bookcase flips around with full books on one side and the secret passage on the other, allowing you to just turn it around?

The bookcase has a full-wood back, and a bookshelf front. There's one page that has two "normal" bookcases on it, and a second page that has a normal bookcase and a secret passage bookcase (so you can swap them in-game).

That's odd, I was thinking of Johann Dippel just the other day.... (For those unfamiliar with Johann Dippel's work as an alchemist and anatomist, perhaps the place where he did his experiments will ring a bell, a castle known as Frankenstein.)

I am tempted to create a place called Dippel's Funeral Home, J. Dippel, Prop..

In my defense, I wasn't the only one who took the photo of 'all' the props to be the definitive list.

When put that way, it definitely seems understandable. It is nice that there is even more than in that pic, though.

Having bought both Shellandrak sets I'm a bit wary about this. How much of this stuff is new. I'd rather not buy an entire new set just for a couple of items I don't already have. Although those curtains do look nice.

A valid concern. First of all, note that it is props from both the original set AND its expansion pack (revisited). Of that:

The chimney and the curtains are adapted to TLX.

The secret passage in the bookcase is new.

Numerous items (lightning generators, exterior pillars, paintings) have been shortened in height to fit the 2" high wall style of TLX. A few are still intended for outdoor or grand entryway use (greek soldier statue, for example).

Everything has .GSD support.


If you're interested in the West Wing/East Wing TLX releases and going TLX with your Shellendrak build, you will likely want to get this for the resizing compatability. If you aren't heavily into TLX yet, there's not a lot of totally new prop content here to tempt you with.

Great add-on - you had me with the moosehead and secret bookcase (and worldglobe stand, carriage and 'Dussenberg' ...) !!

Some thoughts for additional 'needful' items:

- 'Organ' - every Victorian house had a parlor piano / harpsichord / pump-organ ! Perhaps a standing Harp or other large instrument. (Cultural refinement!)

- Horses for the carriage ...
... Actually this could be a lead-in for a whole 'nother add-on for the House: "Stables & Boathouse". The "Stables" could have two or three stalls, with perhaps 3 or 4 different breeds of horses [matching teams for the carriage can be multiple printouts of the same horse]. The upstairs would serve as hayloft, additional storage, and perhaps room for the stableboy. Use alternate walls with mechanic's tools instead of tack and harness hanging up and the "Stable" converts into a garage for the Dussey - and a quarters for the Chaffeur overhead! Having one side large enough for the carriage would also serve for parking the Dussey. The "Boathouse" need only be a simple 'one-room' affair and include a small side dock and a rowboat, canoe and small motorlaunch [consult the "Thayer II" from the movie "On Golden Pond" with Henry Fonda and Kathryn Hepbuurn].

- Additional choices in vehicles - perhaps Ford Model 'A' or 'T' as everyone wasn't wealthy enough a high-class Dussey (or for an even earlier setting: a 'Stanley Steamer'?)

Idea for a whole other building in the series: "Turn of the Century Opera / Theatre House" - with stage (optional front edge gaslights!), hanging chandelier, balconies, theatre seating, curtains, red carpet and queu-ropes and backdrop scenery. (You get the idea...)

Just some thoughts off the top of my head. I'm sure I could come up with more. If I had the skills I'd try to produce them myself as Kitbash [... guys?].

I could see that. Cutting props can take forever. I still think that this set is worth the purchase, even if one doesn't own a robocutter (I don't).
