Just got an email telling me my order from Miniature Market just shipped...

Should be a good sign for almost everyone since I got in after the "second run" of connectors (they sold out and then re-stocked... I got in after that...).

I can confirm that all units have been consumed by distributors and retail stores. So get your orders in at your LGS if you haven't done so already.

In terms of a restock; "Available Christmas" is just a safe way of telling you that a second run is actively in the works (and should take no longer than that at the maximum). Everyone is doing what they can to turn this around as fast as humanly possible. There's a lot of variability with that turnaround (manufacturing schedules & shipping) so we'll have to patiently wait to see what happens as the little details shake out. Fingers crossed for a quicker turnaround.

Just got my tracking notification email! Although it's still being processed over at UPS.

Greetings from Spain. Congratulations on the success of "terraclip" is incredible how quickly exhausted. I thought ordering to the return from vacation (in your on line store), but in Europe it will be impossible to get anything until Christmas (i think so). What good is worth waiting. Pity that in Europe there is nothing like GENCON

Hoping that my Maelstrom order placed 29·07·10(!) will eventually be fulfilled <sigh>

But as has been said, if they're sending them surface shipping it'll be 2-3 weeks minimum 'til they get to this side of the Atlantic, then to distributor, then to supplier, then finally to me...

Mine arrive late last night, was punching out and building till 1:00 in the morning with my grandson.

Geez, MiniatureMarket is not really endearing itself to me. They left my apartment number off of the shipment when they shipped my order and so UPS didn't deliver it today. I checked, and yes, I had put my complete address, including apartment number on the original order. Hopefully someone in the office gets my email early tomorrow morning and corrects it, otherwise I'll have to wait until Monday.

Looks like I'll be looking for another vendor to be purchasing from in the future. Shipping errors are an annoyance I rarely put up with more than once.

Just got a note that MiniatureMarket shipped my order today -- I hope I don't have the same problem. My FLGS gave up on waiting for Alliance Distributors, who (as of late last night) said they still hadn't gotten any product, so I ordered online with his blessing (given through gritted teeth).

My friend (at the FLGS) sent a note to Wyrd and they said that Alliance put an order in very late, and should get the product "soon". Unfortunately, we all know what soon really means, which is why I went ahead and ordered from someone who had the product.

I got my order from Miniature Market yesterday. I've finally gotten everything punched, sorted, and glued (where appropriate). Ideally, I'll get to play around with the pieces this weekend.

I got mine in today as scheduled, from miniature market, and looking at placing another order, though I was surprised their prices on the terraclips have gone up since my first order. You should be able to contact UPS and get your address corrected to the correct one.

I pick up my ‘Buildings of Malifaux’ and a set of clips at a FLAGS yesterday. It’s a small store so they only have one of everything and clips, if you’re in my neighborhood better hurry.

spoke yesterday with Maelstrom, they say that they have just received a first batch of products and are sending out preorders: they are expecting a second batch in a couple of weeks.
My preorder still shows "processing" though

i've also talked to them and they told me that they have the sewers and the clips of my order (got 2 of each and 3 clips) but to complete the order with buildings and streets i have to wait a couple of weeks.

Wait.... WEEKS???
Damn, I had hoped I'd get my stuff within the next ten days or so...

i know how it feels bro....

if they had at least buildings ready i could manage with that since the first couple encounters of "the shadow rift of umbraforge" are in a city enviroment... then there are a couple or so in a cave-like setting, and then where i need all of them there is the furnace and the keep of umbraforge (i would like to try building at least 3 lvls of the keep altogether).


ah i forgot to mention that obiously i need some time to rebuild all the maps using only 6x6 and 3x3 tiles + props and some custom tiles for lava.
When it comes down to kitbashing i need to test what is better.
Atm i have 3 options:

1)custom tiles using foamcore and cardstock
2)printing on transparent film to lay over the base
3)printing on a single cardstock layer or even plain paper (because it's thinner) and using the clips to keep it in place.

i REALLY hope i can use the 3 option since it's the cheaper and having CC3 it would open infinite customization for me, but as i said i need testing!

Having recently picked up and tested out my own custom tiles, I can tell you that Cardstock alone would not be enough for the clips to hold on to - however, with a bit of patience and a good cutting knife (and a bunch of spare blades), you can use mounting board to create your own tiles that will work well with the TCP clips. $10 is enough to get you enough materials for up to 5 6x6 + 5 3x6 or 25 6 inch walls per go (1 24x30 sheet of black mattboard - $5, 10 full-sheet labels - $4.44). It holds up fairly well, but you have to be wary of the clips pulling up the label paper where you make the connection (probably 1/3 times I've done this, this has happened to me).

i know what you did and it's great, but... the problem is that where i live foamcore is hard to get...

btw may i ask you a couple of things? do you use a 5mm or 6mm foamcore? and how heavy is the cardstock? i have 220gr/mq

because if clips are made to fit on 1,7mm i think that a double or triple cardstock would be enough.
But my idea was to simply use a thin paper over the original tiles hold in place by the clips themselves.
i know it's not the best in durability but it's really easy and cheap to build!


p.s. to avoid clips scrapping your paper layer have you tried using a bit of glue on the notch area? once dry it should creat a plastic-like layer preventing the clip to raise the cardstock...

1) I'm not using Foamcore board to build these with, what I'm using is ~1.7mm Mounting Board, or matte-board. It's typically used for mounting photographs in a frame, so you should be able to find some really easily (any craft shop should carry it). As you can see with the second thread, the custom tiles that I have made work seamlessly with the Terraclips clips and tiles, the main difference being that mine have a black core while TCP have a brown one. As for the card stock I use... For these, I don't. I use standard adhesive label paper for these, and rely on the matte-board to provide all of the bulk and strength.
2) A double or triple layer Cardstock may work, but there would be a number of issues with the plan - the most prominant one, in my mind, being gluing 3+ layers of cardstock together to get a good match. Probably would take closer to 5-6 to get a good match with the Terraclips sytem - at which point, after all the glue and cardstock and effort to get everything together, you're probably looking at close to the same cost as my matte-board and adhesive paper solution, with a lot of extra work, but some measure of added durability.
3) A thin paper may work over the original tiles, but I'd imagine that it'll run into the same issue I have with my label paper+matte-board solution, in that the paper you're using for the tile will catch on the clip and be ruined. Unfortunately, the only way I can think of to prevent that issue is to print directly to the underlying material, and most don't have access to something like that. On the other hand, it is a dirt cheap solution, and may be workable if you're not worried about having to print off a new set of tiles each time.

News from Maelstrom:
My order status placed on Aug 3rd 2010 ! is now packing
the order from July 2011 is still processing

that's only half good news for me, because the 2010 order contained no clips....
so i will end up with tiles without clips

I just checked again too and found that:

A) Most of my pre-orders have been gathered into one big order. (I sporadically pre-ordered sets since summer 2010 whenever I had money to spare.)

B) I now have 2 orders of TerraClips left: One labeled 04-08-10 (containing 1 Streets, 1 Buildings, 2 Sewers, 5 Clips) and one labeled 27-06-11 (containing 1 Buildings).

C) The 04-08-10 order's status has changed to "Packing".

And now I have an eMail that the 04-08-10 order is shipping to me!

I had also two orders with them, one a year old with one of each set and 1 set of clips, and a more recent one, also with one of each set, and 6 sets of clips.

I now got an order split and an order sent message. They split my first order and sent the sets without the clips

I'm really, really getting tired of this whole thing.

I am now the proud possessor of a box of each terrain type & 3 boxes of clips! ...

... The week AFTER I went to my mini-con & when I'm not around this w/e to build it...

I keep telling myself - it'll be here when you get back...

I got home from vacation last night to find my order of 2 of each set had arrived. And the 4 boxes of clips arrived this morning.

Just about to start unboxing now.
