Is there a source for Atlantis Cut Files?

I love that so many products here have cut files, but I haven't found any for Atlantis - has anyone generated any? Adding regmarks is easy, tracing all those lines is time-consuming.

I'm not looking for everything, at the moment, just the Kracken. :-)

If there aren't any, I'll probably post some at some point, but they'll be my first...

Sadly most of the older vault products don't have and will not have cut files, there was some topics quite some time ago when they first transitioned to TLX and were providing GSD files. There was a tutorial on making the outlines as a silhouette pretty easy, I'll see if I can dig it up and post it here.

It has to do with the fact that you're adding registration marks, and having to shift art, thus having to package the art (ie new pdfs) with the GSD files to make anyone else be able to use them. Without a quantifiable way of determining if people own the set or not posting it on the forum would just give someone the ability to pirate the set for free. I don't know if with the new kitbash being free to owners of the set would make it so that he could relax this by making the cutfiles with modified art as a kitbash or not. Maybe he'll see this thread and chime in.

Quite right, I'd submit it as a kitbash. The new kitbash policies seem to be perfectly set up for this kind of thing.

I'm new to this, but it seems a 90% solution would be as follows:

A kitbash containing: instructions on how to add registration marks to the existing PDFs (I do this all the time, with simple transparent template cut-and-paste) and GSDs that use those marks.

Sure, some will be outside the marks (and won't get cut), but 90%+ will! And no need to re-distribute the bits.

From what I read on the threads, this is probably what WWG means by not meeting "top quality" - but fans don't need 100% quality, we just need as much help as we can possibly get.

[Yes, I know some pages won't work that way, as art overlaps the normal reg mark positions - that's fine. We'll hand-cut those pages.. :-D

Just so you know, although a solution like this would work for a personal use, I seriously doubt that that solution would be acted as an offical kitbash.

"Official Kitbash" is a new term for me [almost sounds like an oxymoron :-D

Official conversions of older sets are being discussed, and I would hope that if they get going, thy will start to appear soon.

I think the gist is, feel free to make your own files for machine cutting, if you do a full conversion, then that can be submitted as an "official kitbash" But please dont share those files unofficially.

Kitbashing of sets is encouraged - the recent WWG store enhancements now mean that kitbashes are automatically shared with owners of the relevant set(s). This is the mechanism to use for sharing kitbashes, and Instructions are provided to help maximize the value and integrity of kitbashes.

(FYI, kitbash sharing is restricted to purchases made through the WWG store, for the simple reason that WWG cannot confirm purchasers made elsewhere, as the other storefronts do not share their customer information with suppliers, e.g. WWG).
