As the title says, I am in need of a new printer.

My last one (HP psc750) is on its last legs and needs replaced soon, so I thought of coming here as most of my printing lately has been TLX it has lasted me a wonderful 7 years and worked great for the prints I got out of it.

I am looking for suggestions on printer/copier/scanner (all in one) or a straight printer. My budget is up to $150. I will be mostly using it to print on cardstock, but there will be the occasional photos as well.

Any and all insight would be most helpful.

I just purchased a Canon Pixma ip4850 inkjet color printer. I has no scanning function, but has gotten veryhigh ratings by the premier german professional product testing organisation "Stiftung Warentest" ("Foundation Product Testing").

This printer cost me less than 60 Euros with 5 full aftermarket ink cartridges and 200 sheets of glossy photo stock in 4'x6'. Aftermarket cartridges cost 2-99 Euros each.

May I suggest the HP Officejet 6500A ?

I have had great luck with my HP OJ 6000 which is just the printer. The 6500A is the 'all in one' version but inherently the same printer.

Has the same features I love about mine...
- Separate, removable, print head. This is a huge bonus over most ink jets. Often times with inkjets the heads can dry up if you don't use them every week. Instead of having to buy a new printer you can just remove the head, clean it with warm water, and be back in business in less than an hour.
- Individual ink carts for each color. This is nice because you only replace colors as you need to; not the whole 'color cart' when just one color runs out.
- You can get cheap refillable ink carts and cheap ink which drive down your 'price per print' so low that you no longer care about how much ink you are using. I got mine from Inksupply.com and love them. For $32 you'll have everything you need including ink! That's less money than buying one set of OEM carts but you'll have like 20x more ink. http://www.inksupply.com/printer_produc ... _6500.html

I actually purchased an HP Deskjet 3054. Print, scan, and copy
for about $60 on sale a bit ago.
it has 2 ink carts (one for black the other for CMY)
prints on cardstock beautifully
