Another out of the box solution to your lack of camera woes (if they persist) can be found in the third volume of Make magazine.

Essentially it shows you how to take an 11$ digital camera and solder a cut and split USB cable's wires to it. It's a specific model, though, so availability issues may come up.

When you're done, you'll have spent less than 20$ (assuming you have a soldering iron and solder, screwdriver, etc) on what will be a reusable digital camera. You could also pick up one of the LED screen backed disposables for 19$ and hack that for about a total of 25$. Smashing.
