Hey gang,

2012 is upon us and with it brings a really interesting mix of projects here at WWG. As you may or may not know, with the success of TerraClips, our working resources are split between the next round of TerraClips production and our standard PDF (TerrainlinX, SwiftScenics, etc) releases. That means we have to think very carefully about which projects take priority.

Because of that shift in available resources, we feel it's important that our community core (YOU!) has a greater active say in what we're doing next on the PDF front! So to that end, this year we want to empower you, our community core, to help us make decisions and to decide on what will hit your gaming table next!

Before we get into that though, here's our current short-term project list. These items don't apply to the above poll as they are already slated for or engaged in active production:

Can't use the airship, already have caves, so for me its old egypt for the win...

My vote was decided instantly. Steampunk airship is my #1 want and has been for years. It will go wonderfully with the railway already on the list as well as quite a few of the sets. Also, I am anxious to see what expansions/kitbashes will be done with it.

My runner up choice is more difficult to make. A TLX castle set would definitely see use at my table, as would the cave system and the mine set. It would be wonderful to have Necroblock as a full TLX release as well, but even if it is more SwiftScenics, I am sure it would draw a crowd.

It was really tough decision for me. Modular caves and castles sound great... But there are other options for those. Egypt would be completely different!

A big ol' steampunk airship would be nice, but the Egyptian based set could be used for ancient, near past, present, future, and scifi settings so it got my vote. But a big ol' steampunk airship sure would be nice. With lots of decks, and a landing strip on the top, and ...

Would LOVE a new cave set with some modern techniques thrown on it. I think you folks could really outdo yourselves.

My vote goes to the Egyptset - because it's something we didn't have already - it was a tough decision between that and some modular dark cave or the minenetwork - don't trash those ideas / sets !!

And i didn't vote for the Castle set - because i think we have many options for that already - heck you can even get the old castleworks set if you're in need of an castle.

The Airship didn't make it for me as well because i know that it would beyond my skill and my time to build.

Interesting. Lots of interest in Egypt but it begs the question; what would it actually get used for in practical terms? Which games or game systems take advantage of that particular offering?

But hey, that's what this is all about! Doing the things you guys want us to do!

I can think of uses of an egyptian set for my D&D Campain as well as for my Star Wars Group if there are enough Sand/desert - tiles delivered (Tatooine says hello).

My vote's for the Steampunk Airship, because:
a) It would be such an awesome ship to build, and
b) It will get lots of use in steampunk campaigns

A strong second choice would be Caveworks Ultimate as it would work make a natural extension (or transition) for every TLX set except the above-ground building sets. Fantasy, Modern, Horror, Sci-Fi, you name it, they can all use caves and cave-like ravines.

The others all sound great, too, but IMHO the Steampunk Airship and Caveworks represent bigger gaps in WWG's current offerings.

erm, I voted for the castle, cause it sounded good, but I'm kinda being swayed by votes towards Egypt as the others mentioned it'd be a solid addition with some good variety.

Can't change my vote it seems...

Steamship is #1 for me although I will say I would be happy with any/all of these ideas being produced. I suppose Egypt would be a second for me, were I to choose. I always wanted to run a Stargate game.

I would love to see a TerraClips modular cave. A good dungeon crawl that can be put together and taken down easily has my vote.

The Iron Thunderhead! I am about to start an Eberron campaign and I would Love to have an elemental barge/ship for when the party inevitably steals one. The Steampunk aesthetic is something I can use more of.

So, my vote went towards a TLX cave system. It's the last bit of terrain I'd consider "core" terrain for whatever adventures I put together. Hm.. I suppose the poll didn't actually say "TLX caves" now did it? If it's not TLX (or TLX-compatible) then I'm not sure how interested I'd be.

That being said, a TLX castle system would be pretty sweet. I bought CWU on sale, but haven't started it. I'd gladly buy a TLX castle system.

That being said, even though I have no use for a steampunk airship, I'd imagine it'd be a treat for you to make, Denny. I'd buy it simply for the fun of building it (having had a great time so far building the Maiden) and to support you guys!

I think an egyptian-style set would be pretty cool too, just not as useful as the cave set would be for me.


Let me be honest, tho - I've got such a backlog of stuff of yours to build, that:

1) I probably won't get a chance to build it in 2012, and
2) I'll apparently buy it no matter what

Welcome to the forums! Eberron is where I do all my gaming. I welcome the idea of more people interested in Eberron on these boards!

Egyptian stuff has a long history in my gaming. The Desert of Desolation classic adventures were set there. Nithia in Mystara is set there. Gygax's Necropolis adventure is set there, as was the Hamunaptra boxed set. Any campaign that has deserts could reasonably hide some Egyptian stuff in it.

That's why I want it.

Well, honestly, the Steampunk ship was my top favorite since it would be more unique, would still fit into the "Western" campaign (since I do a more Wild Arms-based take on the genre) and could be a very cool stand-alone set.

Top pick: Necroblock Lockdown

Runner-up: Egyptian TLX

Reasons:

I play a lot of Warmachine. Most of the interior-type stuff doesn't lend itself to well to WM-styles battles. Of the existing TLX stuff, Himmelveil Streets and Forests are the most thematically matching (I built 64 Himmelveil Forests tiles to make a forest battlefield for WM!)

Both the Necroblock Lockdown and Egyptian-style TLX seem like they could get good use as thematically matching large outdoor battlegrounds for Warmachine battles.

So many good choices....

I finally put my vote for the airship, but it was close.... I already planned out some airship docks, and having a model might help me flesh out air travel in my setting. Right now I am going with something similar to the Goodyear Heavy Lifter, but with props that rotate in a manner similar to an Osprey's wings, going from lift to thrust, most often kept at a 45 degree angle, except with loads that are either very heavy or very light.

As for where I would use an Egypt set.... Steampunk! Egyptology is young, but thriving in the 19th Century! One nice touch would be to have both 'new' and old versions of the walls and floors.

The new caverns and castles sets also sound very nice.

I voted for Deadfall: Old Grumpies Mines because it sounded the most interesting and I don’t think there is currently anything available that matches it. In my mind’s eye I see lots of neat accessories to go along with all the mine passageways (shovels, coal cars, rails, and so on…). Also, of all of them, it would be the most fitting with my Fallout campaign as well as be useful in the occasional Call of Cthulhu game (what mine doesn’t have a Great Old One at the bottom of it!)

If I were running anything fantasy right now Caveworks Ultimate would probably be my next choice because it sounds like it would be very versatile. Similarly the The Black Citidel would be very useful too.

Necroblock Lockdown, Pharohs Decent, and The Iron Thunderhead all pique my interests. But I’m not sure that it fits the theme of anything I run… But I do have to say The Iron Thunderhead does sound really REALLY cool.

Changed my vote three times before hitting submit but settled on caveworks because of overall usefulness. How I stopped myself from the castle and airship I have no idea. Egypt was a close second. Or forth?

The first few choices are too low-tech for my tastes, so I had to choose between Caveworks and Necro. I went for Caveworks because it's more universally useful.

Difficult choice, because everything can be useful, but I hesitated between caveworks and mines and chose the cave system, which could be then extended to a mine

I voted for the Necro set. I play a lot of Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader and it seems like there is not much Sci-Fi stuff out there other that the odd spaceship interior or a base. I want a gritty city to run investigations and encounters in!!!

The Mine could be usefull, especially if the Western theme was mostly on the props - then a booster pack could turn it into a Dwarven Mine to go with Lost Halls. I could use both

Air Ship - yes please, but not my fist choice.

I don't see a need for the castle as CWU is still a great product.

Can I just say that I want them all and will hand you my money regardless? with choices such as that its rather hard to choose just one.

I voted the cave system, because that is something that is really missing.
All others are "whow, cool thing!" but a modern cave system would really be needed.

The western mine is needed, to.

Western sets are generally cool, there arent much sets of other companys.

The steampuunk airship would be extremly cool and stylish. But even If I would play steampunk it would be so special that Im not sure I would build it. Especially if it needs large storeroom like the old first light sets.

My vote's for Caveworks, but a lot of those have some real potential. The mines and the castle are tied for my second pick, and the Egyptian set does have a surprising amount of versatility (off the top of my head, it could be used for: Stargate, Pulp adventures, biblical adventures, ancient adventures, etc).
