it's an HP Lovecraft world where investigators go into a mansion and seek out clues to solve the crime or event set in the 1930s. It's a board game with strong thematic elements, very close to role-playing without people being trained in role-playing. the Shellendrack house even has Cthulhu tentacles I suppose that's what they had in mind when they made it.

I keep evolving my thoughts on how to make the ideal 3-D set I still using the room tiles 2-D that come with the game except for the grand finale which I'm making a 3-D scene, and of course the investigators start the game outside the box which has all the gaming tiles under it.

of course the design parameters are:
1. Durable
2. Portable
3. Minimum space for storage
4. Very easily and quickly set up

I'm actually working on a complete 3-D set for mansions of madness, that stores up in a very very small space, I've come up with a pretty cool idea. Where you can change each set, for each adventure I'm making a large box that will hold everything for the game and make it so that you play the game using the box as the exterior set and the drawers that slide out in three different directions to reveal the interior set basement, first floor, second floor, and a grand room for a funneling here's a little teaser, I'll show the whole thing when I get it all finished several weeks more of working through the night.
