I *finally* made it into our local Dick Blick Art Supply retail store to pick up some individual Sharpies (brown & black, both Fine and Ultra-fine) @ 1.19 USD. Black is obvious, but I like to use the brown - for wood of course - but also to give a 'dirt' feel to some of my builds. I'm doing this with a lot of Himmerveil Streets and parts of the Canals. (I'll still use black for the Sewers, which I now own but haven't got to yet.) While there I stumbled on these goodies:

#1- Checking out the Clearance Room, I found they were discontinuing the black foamcore (3/16") folding presentation boards - regularly $10.37, on sale for $3 ... 2/3 off! Sized 48"x36", these have a center portion size of 24" wide with a folding 12" wing on either side. I grabbed all 6 they had on the shelf. I plan to use them as portable masterboards with basic TLX terrain and anchors (4' by 3' yields 8 x 6 = 48 6x6 tiles). With 6 different 4'x3' boards I can have a large basic setup terrain board each for: Sea (The Maiden), Grasslands, Forest Floor, Red Martian Sand (Mars Station), regular Desert Sand/Dirt [just bought Deadfall:Streets of Blood ], and another which I'll decide upon later, likely Stone (plain). Folded up, the terrain surface - and all those anchors (whew!) will be protected during transport.
[Checking when I got home, I found the center portion was 1/8" over 24" - but I think I can work with that.]

#2- Heads Up Special Note for Savers:
During the weekend of March 9th-11th (next month), those having the company's regular 10% discount card will be DOUBLED to a 20% savings. I've been using the Blick Studio house brand of markers (like Prismacolor, but cheaper and I find they last longer) and love them.

I didn't see the discount rack last time I was in (last week) so I may have to stop by again.

I get a "40% off one item" coupon every month or so, so I'm always in there picking up something!
