Part of my project is to incorporate as much of the previous sets (both TLX and sets from the vault) with the fantastic TerraClips range. The one downside of TCP over other sets is the lack of props.

Props are what breaks up the 'squareness' of the TCP builds. Things such as the banners, crates, wagons, stalls, barrels etc draw the eyes away from the clean corners and square edges and make things look more natural. Props can also be used to hide the clips on the floor and wall tiles. There has been a lot of discussion in the forums and requests for props as part of the TCP product. We will have to see what the team have got in mind for that down the track.

With regard to how long the build took, that is a tough question. My approach to this was two-fold. Firstly, I wanted to create a build that used everything in all three sets. Secondly, I wanted to ensure that everything worked together logically and followed the concept of my adventure. As it turned out, I was successful in both areas but it did take a lot of time. I found that I had to rebuild sections three or four times, especially near the end when I was using up the last of the tiles, walls and 'L' clips (this can be seen in the image below where I have made sure that walls separate sections of the lower sewer and dungeons). A rough estimate of hours would be 14. That sounds like a lot of time but believe me, there is now enough encounter locations to last months of gaming!

To speed up the build there needs to be some sort of planner like for TLX. I know that this is probably already in the works. Also, it would be great if you could purchase booster packs of clips in addition to the combination boxes. I was left with only one 'L' clip and probably 40-50 of the 'I' and 'T' clips.

I'm trying to incorporate Hinterlands terrainlinx with my TCP set up as well. I've been using the 110lb cardstock and layering it x 6 to get the same thickness to fit the terraclips. I've also found that I'm using twice as many boxes of clips vs boxes of tiles and walls to make everything work.
What did you do to get the cardstock to fit the clips?

After several tests, I've finally found that I can print the outdoor terrainlinx pieces that I want to use on sticky back paper and then stick them to additional terra clips tiles( I like to use the streets set as it has more ground tiles and I don't use roof tiles for outdoors.). I've een able to make grass, stream, road, and desert tiles and also cavern walls. Because there are no 4" high terraclip walls yet, my forest walls are still printed and glued on 110 lb card stock and I print 3 copies, fold them over and glue them all together making a 660lb thickness that fits the clips adequately. They are alot more difficult to cut so I don't have as many. I'll post some photos on a new thread as soon as I complete the caverns. I can't wait for Denny, Matt and the others to make some outdoor terraclips. But this should work until then.
