Absolutely! Just be aware that the soft plastic that's used means that any thick or large areas of acrylic will tend to flake off. But for touch-ups? You betcha.

Another place to look for cheap metal minis - . A lot of 99 cent miniatures.

I am passing fond of the Dungeon Decor line as well, not as cheap as the 99 centers, but nice, and fun to paint.

The Lance & Laser minis include some poseable metal miniatures by Sandra Garrity. Not her best work, but not terrible. They also have her Damsel into Werewolf figures... let me describe the pose of the wolf form - ears are upright and kicked forward, mouth is agape, with tongue lolling forward, one forepaw is raised, and the tail is arched over the body. Bonus points to anyone who can name what this pose means in canines...
