I had off today, so I got some stuff done while the kids were at school. I'm honestly surprised how quick and easy it really is. Now I'm toying with the idea of re-doing my Mayhem stuff afterwards.

Celebrated GM's day (March 4th) by downloading DeadFall and building a ruined bunkhouse.

I got mine, tried to be responsible and wait for a more opportune time, but a malifaux table is screaming at me to be made...

Responsibility is overrated.

I don't suppose there are any TLX Planner files for DeadFall yet are there? I sure would like to plan out my Malifaux table proper.

Hello and greetings to my fellow RPG'rs across the universe, I regret I'm a noob to this forum and severely oldskool when it comes to things like d20 saving throws and vorpal swords... pardon me if I show my age but I remember a time back in the 70's when Dungeons & Dragons was three booklets in a box and Commodore 64 was the coolest thing on earth next to Aerosmith...

But I digress (as should most people my age who believes that no one has made any decent music since 1994)... on the suggestion of a close friend I was pointed to this site where suddenly I didn't have to create my scale models with a ruler, an X-Acto, balsa wood and a family-size pack of Cheetos...

My genre of choice was always the Old West and I when I was young I favored a rare 70's booklet by TSR and Gary Gygax called "Boot Hill" (Google is your friend)... after a variety of sellouts and buyouts "Boot Hill" was eventually set aside for more complicated ones that could sell as a hardbound, but I have to admit I've always been fond of a more simple 2-hour skirmish that required no serious backstory, where friends could sit down as Wyatt Earp and the Clanton's and the feud could've ended with wildly different results... they always tended to climax with a sawed-off shotgun, a cannon and a crate of dynamite, but as things got more complicated in real life the campaigns suddenly lost their luster and we all asked ourselves "what happened to the rule of the six-shooter?..."

I just want to say I just today purchased Streets of Blood as my first WWG package , having looked at the materials I can hardly wait to go to the craft store and buy up a bunch of foamcore and try my hand at this... if I don't die from Super77 fumes I hope to post some of my vignettes and inspire others to give Old West shootouts a try...

And from what I understand I guess making mods are called KitBashers? Sounds like I should put my Photoshop skills to good use...

Kitbashes, yes. Besure to read the Kitbash guidelines that are available somewhere on this forum if you wish to submit a kitbash.

Deadfall is a really nice set with the awesome art style we have come to expect from World Works Games. My current projects are Dark Sun, Strange Aeons and a Wild West theme, I guess I'll tackle them all at one point or another. We only need some buildings to go with the Deadfalls set.

I agree, Streets of Blood is primarily a superb backdrop for a street shootout but could benefit from having more fancy enclosures as set dressings or a place for the chickens to roost . I'm guessing our WWG designers are planning a more comprehensive look assuming the initial Deadfall set is a commercial success... I can definitely see creating supplements that would include a bank, jail, church, stable, saloon, brothel, clocktower, train station, graveyard, etc., but why put in the effort if no one buys it?

Thx for the tip about submitting kitbashes... I'll put my texture mapping skills to the test as soon as I get rid of all this foamcore dust...

Heck yeah, isn't that why they invented digital cameras?

Have a look at:

• Thoumonts for buildings - design what you want using the 'board' walls (rather than the 'half-timbered' walls). Might want to tweak the colors a little to fit in better with DeadFall.
• Feisty Friar: Inn Props for the internal props (there are some in Thoumonts as well).
• Wildwood Grove for the graveyard.

These should provide much of what you're looking for.

Glad to see more pics of this set! I am doing my best to lead my game toward a desert so I can use all of the terrain I built from it. I love the set, but you know how some groups can be when it comes to pushing them into a specific direction (DM: "You guys should probably go left. It is what I have prepared and planned for." PCs: "Quick, everyone go right!")
