Treasure chests with a design like the mine carts from CaveWorks (where we could drop in different 'plugs' to show different kinds of treasure.)

Hi Denny,

Just purchase Dungeon Works and Cave Works.  Both exceptional quality - best I've seen, particularly the Cave ones.

I use these for playing DnD with my chums and would love to see an expansion set with just different kinds of flooring textures, different kinds of archways, altars, a large variety of doors, pillar supports, more chests, especially interested in various top down items (like the well and the crevice).

Definitely archways and pillars, and a variety in the flooring would be cool too.

Not sure if this belongs in here or not but sewers would be cool (yes, I got the idea from Microtactix, but done in the WW style it would look incredible).

How about a set that contains nothing but interior items like tables,chairs,bookshelves, countetops, beds, bookshelves and the like.  it would make a great addition to the WW line (more variety never hurt anything), and it would be appealing to people like me who use Hirst arts to make the main body of the dungeon but want a low cost yet visually appealing way to furnish our dungeons and buildings.

If it was a stand alone item you could do different styles: gothic, primitive (a must!), haute culture, aztec, exct...

the same approach could be used to provided users with materil to transform their dungeons for use in other genres as well.  I'd love to have some tech bits to scatter about my dungeon for when I use it for sci fi.  After all the basic architecture of a dungeon remains the same whether it is being used by orcs , mad scientists, or claim jumpers.

You should try the "InteriorWorks" series as they have almost everything you mentioned in your wish list!

As soon as the new semester starts at work I do plan on picking up the Tavernworks  pack-very cool and difficult to do with my hirst molds.  I guess what I'm suggesting is "dungeons interiorworks" pack that would add to the existing dungeon mold in the same way the interiors line adds to the other molds.

Since users already have the floor tiles for the dungeon you could leave them off and concentrate on providing more types of dungeon dressings.  I'd like to see more, and more abused looking, tables and chairs and a few scifi elements would allow users to cusomize their dungeons more fully.

The Castleworks interior is great, but the furniture is too nice for a dungeon.  Having a set of nothing but furniture would be an easy way or users to change the look of an exiting dungeon (or castle).  With one type of furniture it's a dwarf lord's luxurious home, replace those with orky primitive furniture and it's a captured  orkish hideaway.  Replace it with gothic horror trappings and it's a vampire's lair.  Replace them again and it is a mad scientist's lair.  

A set of mad scientist themed elements would be a great addition as wel, but I suppose that discussion belongs on the sci-fi or horror pages.

I was realizing as I was doing some more printing that what was missing was sewers!  Have 1/2 inch walkways on the side with nasty sewer canals flowing with all kinds of guck.  Grates on walls and floors, big effluence pipes, walkways over the canals, etc.  Necessary for any type of undercity adventure!

Great job on the all the sets Denny! I picked up Pubs and Inns, and two days later had to get VillageWorks. This stuff is amazing. I hope to get something in for the contest also.

OK, now for my wish list. Since the medieval setting would most likely be in fantasy environments, wouldn't it be neat to have a DwarvenWorks Maybe not a full set, but an expansion on the DungeonWorks or CavernWorks.

Also maybe an ElvenWorks or FaeWorks for VillageWorks. I read something about ExteriorWorks and will be picking up that as soon as I see it:) Also all the interiors and exteriors I have yet to buy. (Just bought 3 reams of cardstock)

OK.. done rambling. Great stuff, though. I'm still amazed.

Would also like to see sewers, large pillars and archways and "block" walls (so I could add some ontop of each other).
Someone else mentioned top down items (like a well) that would be great!

I am still a fan of constructing room pieces and then linking them together.

One design question about Gothic Realms - why were the different sewer channels created seperately instead of just having one sewer channel and then inserts for the different types of effluence?  

I'm hardly an authority to speak, but my guess leans towards the idea that it would be hard to do inserts like that.  The coloration is both the bottom and the sides of the channel (grates and all), so half of the visible model is unique to each version.  I can't forsee how someone would do inserts that wouldn't be obviously "inserted".

That’s exactly right Andorax. There are subtle colors variations on a large surface area of each model. It would have been impractical to create large inserts. I wanted the reflected color to show up on the sewer walls and bars making the whole visual design more convincing.

Yah, I can see how those subtleties would be lost with inserts.

the pit traps in the main set are good, but it would be nice to see some "sprung" traps for doors and the like,

Round rooms! Curved walls!

Sorry, I know that you can do that with Gothic Realms by using a compass and making a floor section that holds it in place, but if I have to measure another 1/2 inch triangle I will scream!

Seriously, I needed to create a rotating section for my game, which meant doing 2 round rooms that could nest fairly tightly, and I think I was going a little buggy toward the end. This is being done up as a birthday gift along with the adventure that uses it, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. (And in reality the more I fuss, cuss, and pull my hair the more fun I am having as I try to force something to do what it wasn't designed to do!) While the nested/rotating rooms aren't something most people will need or want the round rooms would be nice for towers, tombs, and shrines.

And I have to admit that it would have been a lot harder to do in Dungeon Works, where the triangular wall cross sections would have been a lot harder to bend into a circle...

The Auld Grump

Most of the suggestions I have to make have already been covered by others (hex grids, ruined walls, and many many others).  I was wondering however about the torches in the DungeonWorks set. I use them as braziers and was wondering if you could include a whole page of them in your upcoming DungeonWorks Ultimate. Or give me some tips on using Acrobat to achieve this result on my own.

In the Classic Dungeonwork are props for a torture room. I have seen in the chunky dungeons is a wood disc with a chained skeleton.
Is there somewhere a Iron Maiden?
and cages or iron bars walls?
I plan a Adventure involving freeing someone out of a great Prison/torture chamber and this would be cool.
This would be cool to have in a expansion.

Also how about some additional stick on bricks in some of the gaps... something with a niche on it for hidden treasure/trap - a bit like the torches or even just general vandalism and graffitti.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but...

I'm in the middle of using Gothic Realms for the Forge Level of the Forge of Fury and printed out the checkerboard flooring for the main/great hall. (I'll post more pictures when I get the chance!)

Because the tiles are 7x7 squares there is a black square in each corner. When you put two of these tiles next to each other the checkerboard pattern is broken (black next to black, white next to white). I tried simply cutting off the outside two columns to make a 5x7 tile to keep the checkerboard pattern, but the lighting made it look a bit funny (and the room I was making was 20 squares long (and 7+5+7 only gets you to 19 squares! :-/)

Can you please make a 7x7 checkerboard tile with white corners so they can be printed and immediately placed adjacent to the black cornered tiles for a very large checkerboard pattern?

My suggestions would be as follows for the dungeonworks line:

An Aztec ziggurat model along with walls containing Aztec or Mayan art.

The giant boulder trap from Indiana Jones would be cute too.

Egyptian catacombs and ruins (with Egyptian art along the walls and floors).

Egyptian tile pieces for each major diety for temples and such.

Demonic dungeons like the ones in Diablo so PC's know they went from Kansas straight to Hell with a dungeon containing terrible horrors only to be seen in a 3d model. An example is a floor drawn that looks to be completely made of bricks that have the occasional eye, screaming mouth, or hand jutting out. You can do a wall like that too. Chains, lots of chains too.

Floor and wall tiles with art colored to look like there are tentacles and/or evil eyes/sharp teeth that can be seen in the background.

Cambodian and Indian temples. I know that to build a Cambodian pyramid would be a challenge for the most determined cardstock builder, something more simple such as wall art containing Cambodian and Indian motifs would probably fit the bill.

I think that's all I have for now. Off to Villageworks suggestion.
