Been offline a bit, so I may have missed an obvius anoucement, but where did it go? Hopefully no fallout between Chris and WWG.

Mel has moved his stuff to a new website; as I understood it, the process of WWGifying his items on the storefront end took up too much work for it to be worth the effort. Hopefully the new site fares better than the old one.

Hmm.. meaning that the Ebbleverse no longer counts for the WWG kitbashes? That's a wrinkle in my plans there, yes it is...

Maybe I should just license TLX and Ebbleverse directly at this point...

Edit: Oh, and asking the obvious... where's the new site?

I believe Chris still has to make an announcement there. No falling out or anything like that. The short version is that I approached Chris when he closed up shop at Ebbles and offered a place to keep the sales trickling. We always knew it was a temporary stop along the road.

I'm pretty darn excited about Chris's next venture http://www.genetmodels.com/ and I REALLY hope that it takes off for him again! Chris has so much talent and deserves every penny he gets!

Yep, nothing dramatic happened. It's exactly like Zorg said, and the catalog transfer happened a couple weeks ago.

I figured I could spend my time spiffing up 9 years' worth of ancient promotional assets to look good against a dark-themed website, or I could spend that time having fun working on new stuff. Having fun working on new stuff won.

I also love developing models in an informal, cozy, and personal setting where it feels like I'm inviting people into my workshop to kibbitz, so I found myself showcasing my paper model activity almost exclusively on my blog. It also happens in my spare time and doesn't really feel like A Job to me, so I decided I might as well just run with that ball.

To that end, I restructured that activity into a part-time side business that costs less than $50 a month to operate and re-listed all my old stuff as imprints. I continue to make new Ebblesverse models, people keep me stocked in Community Coffee and pizza, and everybody's happy.

As for making announcements and stuff here, it didn't seem like that big of a deal because it's just a catalog transfer with zero impact on existing customers and I'm still a part-timer here. In fact, all of the stuff I did under the WWG label is still up (the Podtel, cars, my half of the Roll Arena), and I still have plans to work with Denny on Roll Arena-style collaborations and other non-WWG projects as our schedules permit.

I know you posted a Genet story on The miniatures Page, but you might also post a "Guncrawl is now available again" story there too - I remember some discussion from folks who missed the cd and wanted to buy Guncrawl after you had shut down ebbles minis.

Alexio: It's not something I want to make too big a deal out of right now, to be honest. I have some other plans for Guncrawl. I'm not being coy or teasing, it's just much too early to say anything definitive because I haven't had a chance to start dealing with those plans yet.

Many I have been away from WWG for a while due to work and discover that Chris no longer has his stuff here, I knew he had Genetmodels.com

Now my question. I know back when he was doign Ebbels Miniatures it was one of the few, if not the only outside cardstock modeling company we could link to, because of the close friendship/ working relationship between Chris and the WWG crew here. Will this still be the case, can we link to/make reference to Chris's new site? I hope so because Chris has some awesome stuff that newbie should be well aware of.

Not to worry, our long standing relationship with Chris is as it ever was. Post away!

Any one got a word Mel's Guncrawl update?

eldorf_dragonsbane: Yeah, it's like Matt said. I'm still a part-timer here (the Podtel and the cars are still up because I did them under the WWG label), and I'll still be doing interesting projects like the Roll Arena when opportunity permits. Mostly, I help out around the office when Denny's swamped, and I'm currently helping administer the kitbash submissions.

It was just easier to re-list my old catalog on a light colored website than it was to slowly redo a decade's worth of promotional assets to look good against a dark gray background.

ehisey: Not yet. I'm transitioning it from a paying hobby to an actual part-time job, so I'm still getting settled in and catching up on the backlog. It'll probably be sometime in 2013 before I get to revisit the ideas I had for Guncrawl.
