I know everyone's busy with all the new Deadlands and Dungeon material, but it has been several months now since we've heard about the kitbash section? Any chance that's going up soon?

I wish I had more information to offer. I will try and look into it, but I have no direct insight on this topic.

Well, I'm afraid I'm just going to have to kill you now.

There's no real rush on this one. I know I'm weird in that I enjoy the kitbashing and design more than the raw product... so I also I know that if WorldWorks were to cater to me all the time, they would promptly go out of business.

I enjoy kitbashing tiles and things, but have stopped because given my limited time, it just wasn't fun to not be able to share things. It's one of those tough positions where it's good for WWG to get the kitbash stuff up and running, but it's still work to get it up and running. I'm crossing my fingers that after the next wave of TCP stuff they'll give the kitbashing some love. I'd be happy to spend some of my time reviewing submissions, if they need help!

There's also the fear that after the next wave of TCP stuff, I won't be able to resist it, and my TLX days will be numbered!

Well, they need to do what gets them the income, and the TCP stuff is where the money's at, I'm sure. I don't really blame them, but I wouldn't mind a head's up on how things stand. Like you, I really want to share these things more, and it takes a lot of wind out of the sails to know that I can't at the moment.

Of course, for my own part, I've now got blank templates for every core bit of the TLX system, have finally started to get a handle on weathering textures, and am hitting the Mega Mall hard again. TLX has some interesting limitations there, though, that I'll have to figure a workaround for...

I'm also definately going to be hitting DeadFall for Steampunk mods, but I'll wait for the Building Essentials to have more meat on it so I know what I can do with it.

I started converting Harbormaster to TLX, and learned a TON about applying stains and weathering and stuff. There's a lot of great resources available. Sadly, I lost weeks of work when GIMP corrupted two of my files. I've learned to create smaller files with fewer layers, just in case. I recently picked up new machines, and can now actually work with more than two or three layers (unlike my last machine, which would grind to a halt!). I'm holding off on re-creating my conversion until there's some motion on the kitbashing front, just in case anything I do stands a chance of being shared.

I've learned some weathering techniques, finally, though not to the level of the newer WWG materials. I think it's a more natural look, and therefore more useful, than Mayhem Mall's original run, though. (A bit TOO much weathering, there... but since they were going for a Zombie apocolypse...) I'm still not entirely confident with using layers - betraying the years I was stuck with Paint Shop Pro - but I'm improving.

What I really want for the kitbash forum is feedback on submissions and nudges into certain directions. It's hard to do that with the big-ass "Sample" written over everything, on a 1/3 scaled pic that's been done with extreme lossy to get under the file size.

Just a quick FYI. We're doing our best to work out the final logistics on this (thanks to Chris and crew on that one). We'll do what we can to get the ball rolling again.

The Kitbash area just 'not happening' for so long is one of the reasons I have little faith that WWG can keep up a monthly subscription sort of thing with new content.

I'm not sure if Cris is still working on this since he has started his new site.

I do think that ignoring the Kitbash area is a mistake. There is a lot of devoted talent out there that could be tapped. It certainly would be appreciated.

The kitbash policy is a failure. I'm producing kitbashes for other designers every week (three this week alone) and posting them with permission, generating sales of their products. It's all win.

I have cutfiles for WWG products I can't post here or anywhere else (these have no art in them) and I won't submit as an official kitbash until the logjam is over (which looks like it will be never, based on a preponderance of the evidence.)

Sometimes it's better to admit a policy failure and move on rather than keep saying "just wait a little more" for more that a year...

The community continues to stand by, waiting for permission to help - but some of us have directed our energies elsewhere because our help has been rejected "by policy."

Well, as one who has no talent that I know of, and no experience at all, I am very happy about the possibility of movement of this topic. If kit bashes are ever continued, I will be purchasing any that pertain to my sets. Some of my favorite tiles in the Streets set are bashed. And they look just like the tiles from the original set. To me, kit bashes are all a win for me. Wish I was able to join in this part of the hobby, but, time, money and training just aren't there.

Short of modifying the Kitbash submission rules, everything else has now been put in place. Just waiting for everyone to fall into position to begin accepting new submissions.

It's never good when the boss demands everyone 'assume the position'.

While I can't wait to see the submissions, I am also a little leery of the pending avalanche of kitbashes.

Well, I'm going to be a little stuck with a few of mine, due to the layers-requirement. (For props, in particular, I've been flattening and tweaking images on a pixel-level...) I'm not actually sure how to work around this one for the moment.

Edit: Wait, nevermind, showing my age there. The submission doesn't require I give you my layers... just the PDF. It's been a long day, dammit!

I just sent along ONE LITTLE kitbash, to see if there's anything wrong with the way I've packaged things. Rather than flood you with a dozen kitbashes that all have the same annoying formatting issues, I thought it'd make sense to make sure I've got it right.

At a glance, it seems like a valid submission. I would say go ahead and send in some more if you would like.

I think I just sent along the submission for MH Golden Dragon. It didn't feel right, though, as in I got no obvious feedback that things went forward, so please let me know if there are any issues. On this level, I'm a complete newbie...
